I really wish Maddon would stop batting Zobrist 4th.
Don't really have a true cleanup hitter in lineupI really wish Maddon would stop batting Zobrist 4th.

Especially since he batting Bryant 2nd and Rizzo 3rd.
Fowler Bryant and Rizzo at top of order who are pretty much their high OBP guys...
So my guess is he has Zobrist there because he the best of the rest at making contact which makes him a higher percentage to drive in runs..
Russell in 5 hole now, is having a solid year at taking advantage of all 4 guys ahead of him getting on base and driving them home..
The rest of the bunch has just underperformed or been inconsistent all year...

Though you'd think it would be a higher percentage to get a guy home in this situation, their actually one of the better teams at succeeding..Cant hit a sac fly to save their lives.

That greatSoler's OPS was over .900 in August, I would've put him 4th. Especially with the short LF porch on Houston.
Soler is sinking back into that pit he has been in most of the year. Might be a 4 hitter on the Braves but never on a good team
That the one thing that worries me come playoff time.Soler is sinking back into that pit he has been in most of the year. Might be a 4 hitter on the Braves but never on a good team
I have those same fears. The saving grace may end up being our magnificent starting pitchers. Even when we dont hit, the opponent will likely not be hitting eitherThat the one thing that worries me come playoff time.
Not just with Soler but most of their hitters.
Their streaky hitters, they go through stretches where they hit everything, then go a bunch of games where nothing falls in for them.
I just hope come October, there more of them going through the good stretch then the bad
