Lol Davies getting absolutely hammered
Lol Davies getting absolutely hammered
Now where are the guys that were assuring the rest of us that going from darvish to Davies wouldn’t be that much of a drop off?!

lol, as a collective group, the 2021 Cubs team batting average is .157 with a OPS of .600
As a comparison the first place Reds team batting average is .310 with a .970 OPS
No velocity + lose command = ass whooping.
We saw this in game 1 and Kyle. He came back with a vengeance.
Jake lost command on his 2nd game but battled through it.
Bad games happen. How that they fight through command loss is more telling than their games with command.
Cardinals have always been a patient team. I think the problem is moreso that the cubs hitters aren't good.It is not just the Reds. Stl is getting production out of their investment.
Reds are being fueled at the top. Naquin and Castellenos. Both are hitting .300+
Stl 1-3 are all near or over .300 BA.
Cubs
Happ .143
Contreras .136
Rizzo .148
I feel that the problem is that the Cubs are taught to wait for that mistake pitch and to turn on it vs being agressive up there.
I would change up the line up.
Bryant (7 hits)
Heyward (5 hits)
Baez (7 hits)
Rizzo (4 hits)
Get the top more so the hitters who are doing something in their AB's and Happ and Contreras into hitter slots vs OBA slots. Get them more agressive by situation.
Davies has been good most of his career, I don't see any reason to think this is the year that endsso you’re telling me Davies will bounce back and have a solid overall year?

I think his argument is years only count when they fit his agendawell according to CSF, 2020 is a year we are supposed to just throw out...and that was Davies best year. Take that year away and his career era is right at 4. That’s nothing special really, and certainly is nowhere near darvish level production. Which, is what he and others were saying...that the drop off from darvish to Davies would be minimal, and I’m not agreeing with that at all
