Yeah, he looks like he's trying to get more swings and misses than he did last year when he was a part time starter. The walks are an issue but he's faced 20 batters and given up 2 hits and 3 walks; how is that "struggling"?
You're a huge Starlin guy so it doesn't surprise me you see negatives in Warren and say shit that stats doesn't back up and then make it an "eye test".
Lol yea, thats it. I see others here haven't agreed with me. Well, since you want to talk stats. Pitching is a funny thing. You can look like shit, but since you got 8 defenders behind you the odds of you getting an out are greatly in your favor. Adam Warren has average stuff. He lives by command. He spots his stuff. He is effective. Now to the stats, He has allowed 3 walks in 5 innings. Thats good for a 5.40 ratio per 9. He has a 9 k/9. He has an unsustainable .167 BABIP. He is getting lucky. Eventually, the other shoe drops. Now, for the eye test that you dismissed which is laughable. He is laboring through the at bats. He doesn't have a feel for his pitches. It is clear when you watch him. Yesterday, he walked a guy. Threw the ball away and then allowed the single. The only reason he doesn't have a Earned Run is because he threw the ball away himself. He has not been sharp. No one crucified him. I can only assume since you brought up Castro that you are defensive over the guy because he was the guy traded for Castro. So, yet again, thanks for giving me a box score and showing me the light. Warren is pitching lights out.
