Yeah, he looks like he's trying to get more swings and misses than he did last year when he was a part time starter. The walks are an issue but he's faced 20 batters and given up 2 hits and 3 walks; how is that "struggling"?

You're a huge Starlin guy so it doesn't surprise me you see negatives in Warren and say shit that stats doesn't back up and then make it an "eye test".

Lol yea, thats it. I see others here haven't agreed with me. Well, since you want to talk stats. Pitching is a funny thing. You can look like shit, but since you got 8 defenders behind you the odds of you getting an out are greatly in your favor. Adam Warren has average stuff. He lives by command. He spots his stuff. He is effective. Now to the stats, He has allowed 3 walks in 5 innings. Thats good for a 5.40 ratio per 9. He has a 9 k/9. He has an unsustainable .167 BABIP. He is getting lucky. Eventually, the other shoe drops. Now, for the eye test that you dismissed which is laughable. He is laboring through the at bats. He doesn't have a feel for his pitches. It is clear when you watch him. Yesterday, he walked a guy. Threw the ball away and then allowed the single. The only reason he doesn't have a Earned Run is because he threw the ball away himself. He has not been sharp. No one crucified him. I can only assume since you brought up Castro that you are defensive over the guy because he was the guy traded for Castro. So, yet again, thanks for giving me a box score and showing me the light. Warren is pitching lights out.

Ive been waiting for the shoe to drop on Warren. He hasn't looked good the last couple of outings but was getting away with it.

Yeah, he really got roughed up there.

Have you actually watched his pitching? He has not been crisp. I actually watched him pitch last year. He was a lot sharper. He is struggling with his command which is important to him. But, thanks for the box score. You really showed me.

Percentage of pitches thrown for strike 2015
62.1

Percentage of pitches thrown for strike 2016

He's had a few terrible pitches and that's why guys aren't really offering at his balls (20% swing rate on pitches out of the zone) but it's a sample of 20 freaking pitches. I'm not saying he's been perfect but my point is that his "lack of control" is a few bad pitches but it's not like he can't throw strikes or he's missing the plate.

Overall, it's 59 fucking pitches over 5 innings where his stat line is 5 innings, 2 hits (singles), 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. He's inducing more groundball outs than he did previously in his career too. But no, let's have a great conversation about a guy 60 pitches and five innings into the year who's the Cubs fifth reliever.

Tell me where I crucified him. You are making the big deal over it. I also said stuff about Baez. Want to get into that as well. Remember, I am a Baez fan boy. You seem angry on this board. You're debating is pretty horrendous. Learn to breathe before typing.

Now you are accusing someone of a temper tantrum? What's next, Silence$aid?

I know you didn't. Take a deep breath. I didn't think by including the $ that I would have to post in green text. Maybe I should have discussed best case scenario. :D
