Trading Baez would be a major mistake. For all his frustrating strikeouts, he still has an ops about the same as Happ, who is being annointed a future starter full time at Baez' expense. And Baez is faster with better glove and arm.
Nonsensical.
C. Contreras
1B Rizzo
SS Russell
3B Bryant
RF Heyward
Those are the only guys that should be inked in for 2018..
CF has not been settled because Maddon refuses to play Almora on a steady basis and as much as i like Jay, he not an everyday CFer and much better as the 4th OFer...
LF Schwarber most likely returns but he also probably their top trade bait for SP..
2B they cant keep going with the merry go round there between Baez Zobrist Happ..
Zobrist has 2 yrs left, most likely going nowhere (i hope he retires)..
Happ is raw and was probably brought up too soon but his hot start and versatility kept him up.. he going nowhere..
Baez is 25 and in his 4th yr , 2nd full yr.
He ready and probably needs to settle in at one position every day..
It won't happen with Russell Happ Zobrist on this team..
Baez is also with Schwarber their best piece to trade for a SP
I see some changes made to have more stability with the lineup as were seeing Maddon shuffle not quite working when he doing it between 2 to 3 positions..
