What a dumb fucking idea leading off Rizzo....he's our RBI guy. You can't lead off your RBI guy!!!!!

Ya score 9 runs with your RBI guy leading off. Works for me

I mean...really? Are you seriously that dense that you don't see the sarcasm in my post? Keep working, maybe someday you might develop a sense of humor.

Idk. I'm really hoping Harvey looks so-so so he keeps a potential target while Montgomery puts up 6 innings of quality.

I don't buy that..
He went with Heyward the first 66 games in the 2 hole, after that he had a set 1 -6 all season..

Fowler Bryant Rizzo Zobrist Russell Heyward

This year he has too many toys to play with...

The Schwarber experiment didn't work and he basically been moving Zobrist Baez Jay Almora and Happ in and out of lineup...

Jay don't have to play everyday, just against most RHers..

Almora hitting .270 and .323 OBP, what difference having him 9th or 1st..
He a kid with speed and runs bases well..

Get him an extra AB to get on in front of Bryant and Rizzo..
Plus
With Happ hitting 2nd, Almora gets on , Maddon can have Almora steal, Hit n Run, bunt..

A lot easier to get him moving around the bases at the top over the others..

I would like to see a lot more of Almora, and less changing of lineups.

But Almora does not have speed.

I like him 9 or 2 myself. He is a good contact hitter and he works in situational hitting. If he proves to have gap power he could be a good 6 hitter.

He's an a above average runner. It's not necessarily because of his natural ability. He just reads situations well. But he's better than your average runner.

Contrares is the fastest guy on the team and Rizzo leads the team in stolen bases. If Willson got on base more he would be leading off.

Rizzo has 42 BB and 31 SO. Not many player run a higher walk rate. It is almost unheard of.

Speed lead offs are a relic from the Astro turf era

Yeah, but nothing like a guy that can turn that walk or single into being in scoring position for the 2 and 3 hitters. Thats even something they did not have with Fowler only 13 steals.

Either way, this will be a cool story for a few days, but it was cool with Schwarber for a little while too.

Eventually they might get to Heyward, unless they are waiting for him to volunteer too.

Honestly Rizzo may end up sticking here. Lead off has been the key issue this year and Rizzo has the plate discipline to handle it. The rest of the line up outside of Bryant has been unpredictable so it makes more sense to mix and match lower in the line up. 1-3 though. You would want a SH between Rizzo and Bryant and Happ is fine right now. Zobrist would also be a good option if he is healthy. Happ is SO prone at this point and that his holding him back right now.

It was never really cool with Kyle. It was all Joe and had no logic to back it up. I got the #2 in the WS part. Not as a lead off though.
