Hamels has given up 13 earned runs in less than 5 of his last innings by my calculation in his last two starts. The home uniform on the road gimmick was cute I guess. If it had been just 13 runs in one game...you kinda just chalk it up to a really bad day...but those numbers over a multiple game stretch? Much worse. Maybe a fake injury for Hamels is in order to get him out of the rotation.

isnt' this like the 3rd game in a week where they go down 10 runs early? At least I don't have to waste my time the rest of the night watching this team.
These guys will be nicely in 2nd place by Monday . Then they'll probably go back into first after the homestand. Then back to 2nd on the next road trip and so on...

How about some fight in this Cub team? Losing that game last night when your guy strikes out 14...and u back him up with 2 measly runs...now tonight just 2 hits? I know the game is over...but have some pride.

Concern would be that one of these days the home streak will end...and you can't count on those home wins as a sure thing. I don't see the road woes going away anytime soon.

they fell back in their road pattern this series.
they struggle to score runs in the first 2 games of a 3 game series and drop the first 2. then in the 3rd game they score a ton.
expect a 8-2 or 10-1 win tomorrow.

They are grown men. I sometimes wonder how this is even a convo. Screaming at grown men isnt going to light some fire. Cole Hamels and Lester are mid and lates 30's. This is like saying a guy likes a football players because he gets mad when he sucks. He still sucks. Getting mad isnt going to change that

Who are you going to bench? Who do the Cubs have that could take their jobs? Its an emotional reaction. I get it, but this isnt on Maddon. He is playing his team that has been to 3 NLCS. 1 World Series Championship and 4 straight playoff appearances.
There is no Vince Lombardi speech that going to kick them up a gear.

Maybe next week when Holmes has Maddon on instead of asking him what helped mold him into the man he is when he was 6 maybe he could ask him why his team absolutely sucks on the road. How refreshing that would be.

Been waiting on Rizzo to get going for 2 months. Ironically it was Rizzo who gave up on Chili Davis early last year.
