My favorite teams
The pen has been encouraging as well lately.
Pat Hughes said on radio it looked to of been a hit and run but Bryant didn't swing at the low pitch...Not sure how i feel about the strategy of having Almora steal in front of Bryant but whatever it "worked."
Quintana yesterday, Hamels today8 really good innings for Hamels.
Their talking that this game may not happen because of the expected bad weatherI would feel good about a sweep except for Chuckwood tossing
Really came down to 2 things. Those are HR's and walks. If you break down the cubs pitching by splits the first week of the year they had a 28.0% HR/FB rate. Second was 33.3%. The most current week it's at 13.3% which is maybe a bit high not sure where league average is this year atm but it's pretty close to league average. In terms of walk rate, it goes 7.1, 6.1 and 2.0 per 9. So as is unsurprising their FIP is really good for the current week at 2.58 and it was fairly horrible at 5.17 and 4.64 the other two thought I would add their ERA for those two weeks was 7.53 and 7.46 which also tells you they were also a bit unfortunate while the current week they have been slightly fortunate at 1.33 ERA though given they had a 2.58 FIP it's not shocking they sorta made their own luck. The pen has been encouraging as well lately.
If they look like their out of contention in July, they definitely should see what they could get for him ..Is it crazy to think about trading Zobrist prior to the deadline for some relief help? It's not that I think Zobrist is bad. It's more a case that he's only here until the end of the year, he's good enough to maybe get you something useful and bote looks really really good. I mean it's probably worth seeing how/if Russell returns before you talk but if he's even half useful it seems like a conversation worth having if you can find someone to pair up with trade wise who might yield you something in the bullpen worth having.
Pitching coming around but now some of the hitters are going south...
Hopefully they can advantage of Trout being out this weekend and then the Marlins to stay on a winning streak and get to and over 500 and reset themselves
I have a feeling Caratini going to be longer then expected with a broken hand..Cubs reportedly in talks with Boston for Sandy Leon.
I doubt playing shape really goes down as your hamate isn't really stopping you from doing most stuff. Hell you may even be able to still lift with it. That being said, Almora broke his hamate and it took him a long while to come back because he tried to rush it. Think it could throw his timing off a little not hitting for awhile but the bigger worry for me is it lingering from him pushing to hard to come back sooner.I have a feeling Caratini going to be longer then expected with a broken hand..
not just with the healing part but also therapy, rehab and getting back into playing shape..
Too bad, look as if maybe this could of been his breakout year
I didn't mean physically, maybe I worded it wrong, just getting back into playing rhythm again with throwing, hitting, catching, etc.I doubt playing shape really goes down as your hamate isn't really stopping you from doing most stuff. We still suck and have the worse pitching in the league? Is Maddon head on a pike?
And Albert?Trout is an absolute Godsend.
ok, 2 questions. what do you guys think of:
1. Joe Maddon
2. your announcers
