Never fun losing to a rival but the cubs magic number is still 34 and they are still 4 up on the nationals even if they lose this for home field. Ultimately these games probably don't matter. It would take a rather huge miracle for the cubs to miss the playoffs or not win the division for that matter. Home field advantage up to the WS is another matter though but the lead there would still be comfortable.

All seriousness, bullpen showing the effect of losing Strop and Rondon and having to pick up the extra work load of late..
That extra inning game the other night didn't help either.

Day off tomorrow helps but DH on Tuesday doesn't help, especially since game one basically a bullpen game with Cahill starting..

Sure, they got that horseshoe up their ass...but is anyone really fearful of this Cardinal team? C'mon...they hit home runs. You keep them in the park and you beat them. IMOP, that's the easiest team to beat in a playoff series. Poor defense and mediocre pitching is not what good teams are made of.

I'm fearful of every team when the cubs continue to leave the game on the bases..
