KB and Rizzo will never be truly great hitters until they stop having to hit into shifts.

Kris "Not a truly great hitter" Bryant's wRC+ thru age 24 season = 143 (45th in MLB history)

Any more dumbass comments for us this morning, or have you peaked already?

What made the Cubs the best team was they were the best at every aspect of the game last year.

Runs: 7
ERA: 15
Fielding: 21

If anything the fielding has not been as good as a whole. Pitching middle of the road. Hitting has been the best of what they have done.

IMO they need Almora playing every day. Baez has been suspect to this point as has Contreras. Montero honestly has been quite solid catching. If anything he could help stabilize the staff.
And last year over...

We're 30 games into this year and they have key hitters still struggling, couple starters struggling, and besides a couple guys a struggling pen which adds up to a .500 team right now..

Sure they'll probably get it going and win a bunch but until then we can't sit here and pretend all is good now..

They're still basically a young team we have no idea if when or how they'll respond this year...

You are focusing too much on one aspect. They are not suppressing runs. That is the main issue.

We will see how Lester does today. Eventually he needs to break himself from his Ross crutch.

Their a .500 team not playing the way their capable of with a lot of key guys struggling now..

That the main issue...

Going to Colorado next 3 games with Arrieta struggling, Lackey, and probably someone brought up from AAA.. add that with some struggling relievers, better hope the bats figure it out there to keep up..

Matt Harvey and Mets are butting heads
Mets suspended him 3 games, Harvey filed a grievance against them..

Cubs should see about getting him
Under team control through 2018

The O has avg 5 runs per game. 30 games 150 runs scored.

The pitching/D has avg 4.6 runs given up. Law of avg means around .500.

They have to either score more or prevent more. Seeing how their D is bottom 1/3 that is a area that can provide huge upside. Pitching is middle of the road.

My opinion is upper management it too concerned with long term growth of their core thus keeping Kyle in there.

Offense been basically all or nothing
9 games of 7 +
9 games of 2 or less

I agree with you about management

Schwarber looks lost up there, yet he continues to play everyday and lead off..

But its looking like because they won last year their just going to ride this year out..
Let Arrieta and Lackey play out their contract and probably be active in trades for pitching in off season..

Wish they would just play Almora and Baez everyday then and sit Zobrist

The Cubs have allowed 40 runs in the first inning. It’s the most first-inning runs given up by any team over its first 30 games in 81 years.

Hopefully we can look back at this later in year and say damn, they survived this crap

The crowd roars for every fly ball but was somewhat quiet on that long ball..

To many big names hitting poorly. To many players hitting in the low 200's.

Same ol' shit.

Lester pitches well, team doesn't score. As good as this team is offensively overall, they haven't scored for Lester since he arrived.

Oh, the opponent has 11? We'll get 6.

The opponent has one? We better not hit.

Defense has gone completely to hell. Nonchalant bullshit all over.

And why on earth does Jon Fucking Jay start in CF? Ever! He'll hit when it doesn't matter, and kill you in CF.

Whoops, ANOTHER bad throw by Bryant!

And they seem to score when they give up alot. Just in the last ten days, they have lost 6-5, 6-5 and 11-6.
