It’s incredibly stupid. That’s what makes it pretty fucking Special person. Sorry if that was unclear in any way before
...and I love your response that doesn't include any real points to refute the "bust" characterization...just a pathetic "Special person" comment. What..are you in 6 th grade? "It's just stupid". Yeah. Nice analysis there.

Gee. Cubs "core" sluggers are really getting it done in this season deciding stretch. Baez, Rizzo and Bryant are a combined 2-15 this series. Way to come through when it matters guys. And the stud closer Cubs needed gives up a homer..a walk and a homer without even recording an out.... to blow his 2nd save in 12 appearances. Everyone the Cubs should be able to count on..their key players are failing this team miserably. If we include Contreras in this "core" of supposedly reliable sluggers..in this "season deciding stretch" (Bryant's words...not mine) they are a combined 4 for 23. Good job guys. You are really coming through. Pfffft.

Kimbrel with 2 blown saves and shaky every other appearance....has an ERA of 7.06. Yeah. the word "bust" shouldn't even enter our vocabulary. He's friggin awesome. And...Theo has him stuck with us for two more years. Yippee. Now those are shutdown closer numbers for sure. Yeah.

Im not sure if the Cubs board is booming or we have posters that take multiple post to get a coherent sentence out. But, **** you Maddon. **** you! IAs a certified manager/water boy of my beer league softball team. I can tell you. If my players dont perform, I inner channel my bossness and make shit happen. Remember, I been coaching before any of yall were born.

Truth be damned

Why are you having a difficult time following this? Strop has been so bad that literally anyone else can blow the game too. Kind of the joke.

So, like I said...

LOL,shaky in every other appearance? He's looked pretty damn good in most his games. He's gotten blown up in two.

Looks like this division is going to be a 3 horse race all the way if this keeps up ?

Cubs will improve, Cardinals and Brewers will also have their ups and downs....it’s just so important to remain in contention over the next games against the brewers and cardinals!

Beat the shit out of Theo?
Relievers like strop and brach, that have been very good their entire careers, are having the worst season of their careers. there's just not much that can be done.

Why? Boston gave up on him....he's already got 2 blown saves...and all the others have been shaky as hell. We can argue the semantics of the word "bust" all day long...but it hasn't been a good acquisition. This guy is Carlos Marmol all over again.
Okay since you are still pushing this idea. Boston didn’t have any money to sign him. They didn’t sign him, just like every other team in baseball because of his asking price and that’s simply the way the free agent market has been the last two years. Kimbrel was still extremely good for Boston last year, not including the playoffs.

He’s not a bust because he has been good outside of two appearances and simply because he was expected to be rusty coming in mid season. He had a prolonged layoff and no amount of throwing is going to prepare you for the intensity of in game action.

Also comparing him to Marmol is confusing and doesn’t make sense. Marmol was one of the most dominant relievers in baseball for a few years. Kimbrels struggles he has had are not really extreme control issues that ruined Marmol either. Very poor analogy.

So there you go, labeling a guy a bust after a mediocre month when it could have been expected he might struggle a bit early is not correct

Pulls Chatwood after four innings, Darvish after 77 pitches, now Hendricks and Lester after 90.

Then it takes 4 pitchers out of your 7 relievers to get thru the 8th inning with one and dones, but people keep defending Maddon while this team just keeps challenging hitters that have been world beaters. Are we in third place yet?

Found this quite interesting when browsing some articles today:

‘The Cubs have led all 14 games since the All-Star break’

Some good things happening and I know it’s stating the obvious but clearly a need at the moment to add more runs and hold onto leads!!!

I'll place this into the will to win box. Brewers are a hungry team and the Cubs have taken on Joe's laid back approach.

Being user friendly is nice and all but this team needs a sense of urgency installed from the top down.

I think that this statement is a core issue that is wrong with this team.

A sense of forgivness. Or trying to circle around the core problem.

Joe does this in his interviews all of the time. Oh Stroppy is really good at forgetting a bad game.

And so on and so forth.

I would rather have a player accept his bad game. Look at what went wrong with the coaches and see if there is a adjustment needed. Vs the baby the problem method.

I think having Joe running the shop for the first 5 years was great for the development of the core. But these boys are now men and need a firmer hand that will hold them more accountable

Is why JM is a lame duck manager and Joe Girardi is available...Do Theo and Girardi have a behind closed doors agreement in place?

It wouldn't shock me.

Brett Boone kinda spelled it out this season when he told that ump that his guys are wild animals and he may not be able to hold them back anymore.

That is being lit up and driven.

But in all honesty the talent in it self is good. There is intensity. That time Schwarber wanted to kill that ump and Baez could barely hold him back. That nature should be the driving force behind this team. They are at their best when they are jacked up. You see it with Contreras after a big hit. That energy spills over onto to the rest of the team.

Those are elements that make this team great. But that same energy should feed after a loss. The players should never accept any sort of forgivness.

Do you think telling them they suck after a loss is going to be a game changer? What's going on with this team is just mind boggling. At some point, players just have to perform.
