I missed the first (fortunately), but of the 5 outs I have seen, 2 have been to the warning track.

Interesting way to look at it....if the wind was blowing out it would be even worse. :jawdrop:

Hey, some games you're not going win no matter what you do. A below avg minor league pitcher going against a team that's always been a problem for the Cubs....this is what you get.

One of the things I appreciate most since 2015 is how few of these types of games actually occur anymore.

Since there's nothing going on here....

It's Pennant Fever in Pittsburgh as Pirates are beating up Kluber in Cleveland looking for 10 in a row.

Cards rookie pitcher has a no hitter going after 7 in Cincy....trouble is, he's up to 116 pitches. I wonder how they handle it.

It now seems like we've given up runs in the first in like 32 straight games.

No wonder we lead the league in come from behind wins. We're behind before we bat many times.

We also lead the league in posts mentioning it.

jk :)

No doubt. I’m just trying to get one of these guru stat guys on here to post some actual stats on it. Cause I’m sure we’re wrong. Us meatballs always wrong you know.

I think it is getting to the point of waving Tsng off the 40 man and putting Trevor Clifton in the call up rotation. He has looked far better than these scrubs.

But Tseng's got electric stuff, man. It's like, totally floating ball out there. Mesmerizing, man.

Jesus, ESPN, how much are you going to fawn over Goldschmidt hustling on that play when it was immediately obvious it was going to be close??

That blown game by the Cards tonight is a really tough loss.

I love it.

Reds down to final out: HR, Single, Single, Walk, Single. 2-1 walk off for Reds.

He lost 3 mph on his fastball again. Same result as last time. time to trash him IMO.

What's it cost these days to see a Cub game at Wrigley? Gotta be $100-150 for two people with food and parking, doesn't it? How would you like to toss that kind of coin down to watch a game like this one?

Those prices are pre Rickets. That is today’s average per person, if not more. Unless you are referring to the far corner of the upper deck and limiting yourself to a bag of peanuts and parking a mile away.
Avg ticket plus all their damn fees are around $100 per. $10 + per beer. $8 for a basic dog. Ticket, 2 beers, a dog, and half of parking and you are at $150/per. Oh, and you want a souvenir and/or a beer at a nearby establishment before or after the game. Bend over. And take it like a man.

Not only was it a rookie pitcher, it was the guy who had emergency brain surgery 16 months ago.

Just a piss poor effort by this team last night. 6-1 and call no joy. I am not sure a manager who would be chewing out asses would have been a better fit than this forget about it look to tomorrow.

I haven't been to a MLB game in years and after reading your post, that most assuredly will continue. I think the last Cub game I was at was the playoff game against Atlanta in 2003, got to watch Dusty hang Prior out to dry throwing 133 pitches. Got the seats free from my employer but I highly doubt they were expensive as they are now. I do remember my buddy getting fucked buying food for us. LOL, that never changes.

This started with me when that video of the guy taking the ball the kid dropped, then explaining that he helped him get a ball earlier, so it was alright to take the one that was given to him. Then I watched kids getting their pictures taken, in the front row, playing with his gum on the game last night. First row boxes were going for 140 a ticket, those field boxes next to the visitor dugout have to be more. Now teenage boys in baseball uniforms in the first row, I can understand, but 5 year olds getting a 200.00 seat for a game is just beyond my comprehension. Must be this generation of look what we did when you were a kid to show you I loved you.

Last night was basically a throw away game...

Once Farrell got lit up in 1st the hitters basically gave in too..

Let just hope we see a better all around effort the rest of this series

It's not that you're always wrong, but that you basically have an opinion on something (Cubs runs given up in the first inning) and instead of trying to learn about where that information is or asking for it in a polite way, you instead put down the people who have learned where to find stats that backup opinions.

It's 58 runs and a 5.27 ERA in the first, their worst inning as a staff.

Point taken. I think that I have stated my appreciation for the stats that get posted on here several times. Just not a fan of how some use those to attack others.
FYI, I posted quite nicely in the Cardinal thread on 7/21 at 6:29 (if you’d like read) as well as yesterday at 7:20 asking where this stat can be found. And got mocked for it. I’ve actually tried to search for it and came up empty.
And thanks for the stat that you did provide. It is a big number. I am curious, as I posted, how that compares to the rest of the league. Is this first inning issue a Cubbie phenomenon, or is it more common place than thought?
