Yay! I'm an ISU alum and Matt Campbell has been a god send for ISU football. We're going to be one of the best teams in the country next year with Brock Purdy and Breece Hall both returning. That's unheard of for Iowa f'ing State.
Hey since ISU will be one of the best teams in the country, maybe you can beat Iowa for the first time since *checks notes* 2014.

Oh snap! We've got some Iowa trash talk now on the board!

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Indiana Hoosiers

This dude decided that is was more appealing to stay in Ames, Iowa, home of our very own @HawkBear, than to go to Detroit and $68 million. Wow. Says something about Detroit huh?
So Lions owner, Sheila Ford Hamp, seems to have been really fixated on having a Campbell as head coach, wonder how far down the list Dan was after being rejected by Matt Cambell

Was giving the HC the nickname “soup” part of the criteria?

Someone that realises you can do everything you would ever want to do in your life with 5 million dollars??

And 68 million makes sure that generations on generations of your family would be able to as well

Nah, people chasing this type of money, over millions they already have, are just motivated by a number that they think makes them seem better than others - doubt they think much about future generations.

This guy seems to value being in a place he prefers to work rather than chasing stupid meaningless numbers - seems a better approach to take when you're already wealthy beyond any of your possible future needs

Whenever your NFL Football team does something stupid you can always fall back on "At least we aren't the Lions"

DAMN!! 8.5 mil would have him in the top 10 in the NFL, close to the top 5.

It's also more than Dabo Sweeny makes, the 3rd highest paid college coach.

Not sure why you would turn that down even if it means you have to coach in Detroit. Coaches can be revered one year and hated the next. It takes one season to change everyone's minds. Coaches that were the hottest candidates one year can go down a level a few years later. You should take security while you can.

Just to show the OP was full of shit.
That just makes your team out to be even more stupid than we thought. They didn’t go after a quality candidate and instead hired the Bozo you got? Classic Lions. Is Dan Campbell a rocket scientist too, by chance?

BTW, your article only says no formal offer was made. That’s because Matt told them to suck an egg when they began inquiring...lol
