Turns out his passenger who died was a Navy SEAL who was an Iraq vet for three tours.

Wouldn't be surprising if he was also an adrenaline junky like Dunn was. As I'm sure you well know, it happens often to those who serve for long tours in high combat areas.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Am I wrong for thinking that the only great loss concerning how he died and what he was is now I have to find someone else to abase themselves for my entertainment?

His jackass will be buried sticking out of the ground so his friends can stop by and have a cold one.

I see your point, but at the same time, we don't know if he forced the guy into the car. If he had hit someone who wasn't with him voluntarily then yes. But it was just as stupid for the guy to get in the car as it was for him to be driving.

Yeah you gotta be smarter than that. The onus is on both of them. Gotta know when not to drive, gotta know NOT to get into a car with a drunk driver, especially a person like Dunn (maybe even when he's sober). Stupid decisions lead to outcomes like this all the time. He's not a murderer, that's taking it too far. Murder means there was intent. That he planned and/or intended to kill a passenger with a horrific fiery car crash that would also incidentally kill himself as well. Or he was drunk off his ass and drove like he usually does (drunk or not) and finally paid the ultimate price for it and his friend who didn't have the sense enough to get a ride from someone else did as well. What seems more likely here?

Involuntary manslaughter is a hard thing to live (or die) with.

Fine. He's a manslaughterer.

Yes, dude shouldn't have gotten in the car. Either one of them. But, I have no sympathy whatsoever for Dunn. I have a bit for the passenger. Not much, but a bit. The world is lucky he only took himself and passenger out. Imagine if he hit some innocent person.

I have a feeling Dunn probably could have been in an ok condition to drive a car, he was just driving like a maniac, which is incredibly stupid after drinking. I bet, given his same blood alcohol content, if he wasnt a star of jackass and was driving a 4 door family sedan, Ryan Dunn nor anyone else would not be dead right now.

I know alot of people like to finger point and condemn anyone that drives under the influence. I am fucking hard pressed to believe anyone that drinks has never driven afterwards and unless you carry a breathalizer with you, I doubt you know what your blood alcohol is, and I think you would be rather surprised to find out how you actually feel at .09. (I know from experience, I never got a DUI but my buddy got one when we both drove home from the bar after drinking the same amount after work when we worked construction together in college, which was about 6 light beers over an hour, he blew a .1 and weighed more than i did, in that instance, even if pulled over with how I felt I never would have dreamed in a million years I would be over the legal limit, i did not feel intoxicated in the least).

Score yet another point for city living---no being tethered to a car like you're it's ***** slave in order to get around if you don't want to.

Well the whole thing is, I snag a cab, or crash at someones house all the time when im drunk. The key word is when im drunk, there are times when I drive home when i dont feel drunk but I would be willing to bet I just might be over the legal limit. But I know damn well when i shouldnt be behind the wheel of a car. I have 3 bars within walking distance of my place, i have no shortage of drinking establishments I dont have to drive to, its just, as an adult not all your friends live in the same place you do, and you cant always expect them to come to you. But most of the time when i go to a friends, i crash there, the only time I dont is when I dont feel drunk and I lament being the creepy guy on the couch when they have a kid. because i remeber hating the creepy guy on the couch when my dad would have a friend over as a kid.

Westboro is going to protest, and I say this without regard for their many other stupid acts, but this has to be one of the dumbest things they've ever done because if it's one group of people who have less regard for consequences of their actions, it's the Jackass crew. This is going to go horribly wrong in a very bad way for a very long time for westboro if they go through with this. And quite frankly I'm glad. Someone email me the flyer but I"m too lazy to post it.

I hope the Westboro runs into the Jackass crew, and the Jackasses are feeling ripe.

The reason I don't feel anything for Dunn is that this ****** had no regard for his, or anyone elses. He had a death wish. Meanwhile, there are people out there like Tbird who fought valiantly and for a while to keep his.

Disagree with you here.

Ebert was fine with what he said. Dunn was an idiot. It wasn't the first time he crashed a vehicle. He would talk about the time he flipped his Chrysler Lebaron 8 times on the highway when he was in high school. He was in a group called Camp Kill Yourself, or CKY. He lived in a world where he created havoc and defied death for a long time. It finlly caught up with him.

Nevermind anything else, for guys that made a career out of being irreverent, anti-social, and just being dicks to some folks, some of whom weren't expecting it and having a laugh at those peoples expense, they seem to have thin skin.

You drink, you drive, your Dunn.

You summed up everything perfectly.
