First off, JJ is awesome. Like his writing style or not, the man knows the team and the game.

The situation he is hinting at likely refers to Jake Dowell calling out Kane and Skille. That's what I've gathered from the folks I've talked to. In which case, Skille (who also has failed at multiple opportunities, also cited in the article) would make sense in terms of being the guy JJ predicts is being shopped.

Of course, hockey rumors tend to come from one big game of telephone. But it does make sense. Remember when Dowell was benched for no reason a while back? Hmm....

If this is the case, then I like me some Dowell even more. I do remember when Dowell was sat without a clear-cut reason from Q. He must have uncorked on one of 'em in order to be relegated to the press box, which isn't good I'll admit, but I like the rumor that he was getting in the face of some players of this team no matter what status they have or how much is in their bank account. He has been one of the few bright spots on our relatively new bottom six.

That's a tough one.

I really like that someone in the locker room is pissed and saying something about it.

But, the fact that it's a relative nobody on the team who doesn't really produce (though I like his game) and is a fairly new face... that's not so good.

Motivating is fine. Calling people out- that's the job of the coaching staff and the captain.

Kane has been a tool ... I mean no one gets caught up in some stupid 20 cent thing ... he only gets a pass because of his position on the team. Or the shirtless thing (I mean hey baby- like a man with no body hair -- I don't even shave it... yeah - ok, kid needs to grow up some ... but well, hey kid also scores about a point per game and -frankly it could be a lot worse ... stupid isn't illegal).

__

On another note, Skille? Really? Frankly I doubt there is anyone out there busting down the doors for a Jack Skille in a trade -I'm sure there are a lot of folks who would take the guy - but I doubt there is anyone that would think that here is a guy that can just get our ( as in 'their") team over the line. You don't build a team based upon guys that haven't demonstrated any actual sort of consistency when going in to the playoffs- no, actually the guys that would be valuable as trade bait in situations like that are the vets with defensive upsides. So, really "shipping someone out" sounds a lot like one big overstatement.

However my problem with "JJ" isn't a writing style - but the mere fact that "hinting" is the same sort of shit that the Weekly World News does when it suggests that the Batboy is really dating Elvis.

"Hinting" at stuff is a pretty easy way to get hits... but frankly, when it comes down to it - it is pretty a pretty damned cheap and unreliable way of actually talking about anything -let along a sport. Sure, mileage varies- but for my money- that blog post was completely worthless, exactly like the "not happening of the Seabrook to Edmonton rumour". down here shit like that is called big-noting ones self. I mean, shit- so a rumour didn't happen ... is that even news? Its like saying: "hey dude, the Sun will be blue tomorrow..." then coming back on and saying "er, no it won't" - then when it isn't ... "hey dude, dig me, I was right." . .

Yeah whatever. God I had Net 2.0.

If that's the case then some one needs to explain to the young man the story of a guy named Bryan Fogarty - who was a can't miss defenseman drafted by the Nordiques with one of their early draft choices in the 1990's when that team chronically sucked.

Not only did that guy drink himself out of the NHL (before he ever had a career) - but ended up dead.

That's a pitiful way to die.

How could anyone become that much of an alcoholic?
