New year coming, time to purify the body is upon me.

In January, no booze, hfcs, transfat, or any processed food. Brewing kvass now for the new year. Might attempt a paleo diet.

Anyone care to join me? Any other detox ideas?

Post that shit here.

Yeah I'm definitely in. Been too lazy this year, too much smoke. I really want to spend the first five months of the new year getting back in 2009 shape for the summer. Less rum and coke (the hfcs is a killer) and more green tea. Also less skipping the gym. I'm actually really fucking motivated for this!

Cool, we can support each other. I got a YMCA membership that comes with free babysitting, so I have no excuses.

I've been eating healthy for 3 months now. Absolutely no junk food of any kind. I've cut out almost all sugar. My main/only source of sugar has been fruits. I've limited alcohol by a shit load too.

There was no particular reason why I did it. I just wanted to try it out. After a couple off weeks, I was driving past a gyro place and smelled the food.... shit. My mouth was literally watering. And when friends around me were eating pizza or whatever, it took a lot to not be like, "**** it. I'll start again tomorrow." Now, I have absolutely no desire to eat any junk food. I actually get queasy thinking about eating all that grease haha

I started back again in October after about a 6 month layoff from training. Feel great. I've found over time that if I go "all in" it's generally not sustainable. So this time around, I've cut drinking WAY back...but still have a few beers in the evening to relax a little. In the gym pretty much every day. Getting plenty of sleep...in bed by about 10 usually and up around 6 am. Eat pretty clean, but eat whatever the **** I want about once a week...mostly for the psychological benefit (but arguments could be made that there are physiological benefits as well). Balance. That's what I'm shooting for....sustainable life long changes that still allow me to enjoy life a little.

Shit, it's the annual January run on health clubs.

We regulars hate this time of year. For a month or so all you supposedly committed people clog our gyms, then quit by Valentine's Day.

If you aren't going to make exercise a lifetime commitment, don't bother wasting your time and $$.

Seriously, it's a lifestyle not a hobby.

Merry Christmas!!

Buy some milk thistle, sounds like your liver could use a good cleansing.

Your goals are too lofty, and too numerous...you will get overwhelmed.

Keep it simple, then build upon success.

I do this three months a year. Good call on the milk thistle.

We need a resolution thread.

I don't have much to offer on the detox side of things as I am a minimalist when it comes to diets. I drink tons of water, no soda and lots of fruits and veggies. My diet/health goal is to stop eating late at night. 800 to be precise.

I would lose a lot of weight in my line of work if I could keep that up. Cheers to everyone trying to better themselves.

I hit the weight machine everyday and walk a couple of miles whatever the weather is. This keeps me where I can eat and drink whatever I want. I don't care what is going on I always make time for my workout. HHM and Mick I will make sure to have a few beers for you while watching the Bears kick ass in the playoffs.

Im kinda glad alcohol messes me up. I never drink and I took only one shot of jager last night and ive been on the can for 25 mins. Literally one beer will destroy me the next day.
