Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. I wish I would have seen this thread earlier, as I would have participated.
If you ever want to have a great experience, go to a party and not drink a single drop of alcohol. A couple years ago a -1 brought me to her company party and asked me not to drink, and I complied. It's an amazing thing to watch.
So it's time to check in.
I have now lost 10 lbs, mostly fat, by cutting out alcohol from my diet and sticking to meals I prepare myself from unprocessed and minimally processed food, and doing minimal routine exercise (rowing, kettlebell, situps and pushups)
Not doing the paleo thing and don't intend to but I feel I have also benefitted from eating raw and fermented ingredients at every meal.
Anybody else doing their thing this month?
Also, I have set a goal to gain back 15 lbs of muscle mass in 6 months starting February. I'm down to 170 right now so I think it's doable but will be starting a 3200 calorie bulking diet next month and lifting again. Anybody have any good resources for this sort of plan? I went to the workout thread but it's way too sunbizzy up in that *****....
People don't like me at parties if I'm sober...
I am sure you are welcome to use the Women's section of Sunbiz' gym dude....
im sittin at about 240 atm and im needing to drop back into the 220 range I generally just go with the no breakfast or lunch eat one meal a day and starve myself down some hell my jobs an eight hour weight lifting session in its self I may do some jogging though and try some of this detoxifying ideas of u guys
I've been oil pulling for the last two weeks, and I did not expect much from it. But I'll be damned, it works.
I think the Paleo crowd takes shit a bit too far...but in general there are pretty decent eating guidelines in the middle of some of the bullshit IMO. I found this list a little while ago and planning on trying some of them out:

I like the convenience of the crock pot. Plus I get tired of eating chicken breasts, vegetables, rice and protein shakes all the time.
I've read just a bit about this and found it intriguing. What kinds of benefits have you seen?

I had(key word) a tear in my gumline since I was a teenager. The gumline is healed, along with the rest of my gums feeling tighter, stronger, and where any sensitivity existed before is gone now. I take meticulous care of my teeth and gums, and have for a long time. I have a limited sugar intake, and I have drunk the same amount of soda in the last two years, as an average person may have in a week. Right before Christmas, I made some bulk order of different nuts, oils and whatnot to save money, since it's cold outside and cheaper to buy a few barrels of things I commonly use, than buy them for full price throughout the year. I bought 8 gallons of extra virgin coconut oil along with my purchase, and in searching for recipes and uses, I stumbled across oil pulling. Since I had the oil for other uses, why not see if this worked too?
As far as teeth and not gums, I can't be sure than any changes are due to the oil, but my teeth are a shade whiter. I guess that's worth something. As far as my skin, no real change yet, but I'll keep doing it, maybe some bad spots will start to heal as well. It tastes nice, so it's better than chewing gum(I don't chew gum, but I consider the task a similar trade off).
Gross, didn't expect this to become a dental hygiene thread...
