Bullshit!

I am a fantastic beer pong player. I feel disrespected.

According to most analysts and fans, you're slightly above average at best.

The proof is if a NHL player could play in the NFL he would not be a NHL player, but a NFL player instead 100/100 times.

Why? Don't say because of money, or I'll tell you that every sports star would be a top soccer player if he could.

Because it is the most popular sport in the country by a large margin is one reason.

That doesn't mean every hockey player would rather play it. You might as well say every Michelin Star chef would rather cook at McDonalds, because it's the most popular restaurant in the country.

NHL players have usually been playing hockey since they were kids, and they started playing it as kids because it's the game they love.

Well, the majority of the players in the NHL aren't even from the United States so there goes that point.

Additionally, are you in high school? Popularity?

Being elite in a fourth rate sport compares to failing to make the team in a first rate sport. I'm elite at beer pong, but who cares.

Football and Hockey are both #1

On the slowest day in sports these are worth a listen. But really, don't expect dynamic, earth shattering discussion from either of these mighty orators.

Do a shot every time you hear "um".
I like to watch jays pressers and do a shot every time he twitches. Ironically I'll end up with the neuro problems.

edit: we still on this people don't know what real irony is kick?

No, you might as well go ahead and misuse it all you want. I'm afraid the word has been lost permanently.

That's because Americans that have the required level of athletic ability choose to play the other major sports instead. Not sure how that invalidates my point, seems to confirm it.

I didn't mean it was the end all of reasons, you said to exclude money.

Not every American player would leave if they had the opportunity. Depending on the mindset of the athlete they may prefer to be a bigger fish in a smaller frozen pond. My point is that comparing a big fish from a small pond to a small fish in a big pond cannot be done head to head. I'm sure jay cutler would be the MVP if he went into arena league, and would likely win many championships.
