If the Hawks make it to the Final, will they sell jerseys with the Stanley Cup patch on it?
So I bought a replica WC jersey back in December 2009 from IceJerseys.com (IJC), located in Montreal with an upstate NY warehouse for USA customers. I chose IJC because they agreed to put "MIKITA" on the back and #21, triple layered, on the back and shoulders (nhl.com and other etailers wouldn't do any player not on the current roster). The crest, all three layers of the numbers, the "C", the name plate and letters were all sewn on (apparently in Rockford, which is where it was mailed from) and the jersey was made in Canada.
A few days ago, I received my replica red Toews jersey with the Stanley Cup finals patch from IJC, and what a disappointment. The Indianhead crest has twill, but is ironed, NOT sewn, on and the Tomahawks are single layer screen printed tackle twill sewn directly to the jersey. Apparently, "single layer screen printed tackle twill" is French for "shiny vinyl" or "cheap plastic" because they look like shit. What's even more ridiculous is that by carefully and professionally sewing them on the shoulders it just emphasizes how cheap these single layer screen printed tackle twill Tomahawks are.
Anyone know where to buy Tomahawks that are made of embroidery and twill. I can't believe the NHL and etailers are getting away with selling this garbage. It looks ten times worse than a Hong Kong knockoff. I remember getting a red Mikita jersey as a kid with a real Indianhead crest SEWN on the jersey. Likewise with the Tomahawks.
