The big thing to me is the only 2.4 fouls a game, staying out of foul trouble is what's allowing him to play the big minutes and put up the numbers he is. Hopefully he can stay healthy and we can start winning so he gets the all-star spot he deserves.

the big thing for me is his ability to hit free throws and hit the midrange jumper. The tornado shot is going in! Anyone who thinks joahkim noah is anderson varejow(sp?) is fucking Special person.

Noah is better looking than Varejao...

Just like Mark Jackson said he has done everything perfect except his jump shot looks ugly.

Comparing Noah to Varejao is like comparing Reggie Miller to Kyle Korver. ;)

It's not a small sample size issue, it's playing 40 minutes. These are the sorts of figures Noah was putting up last year too before he got injured and knocked his per game totals down as his minutes had to be cut.

So somehow the number of minutes a player has played eludes the problems associated with small sample sizes? You're going to have to explain that one.

There are 2 facts here guys.

1) his stats are good in the first 5 games.

2) it is a sample size. period.

And I know what people are trying to get at: the idea that he is able to play 40 minutes and be productive, etc. But my point is this: it is entirely possible that both his minutes and effectiveness after X amount of minutes are also influenced by there being such a small sample of games. It is completely erroneous to go on and extrapolate generalized meaning from stats accrued over just five games.

So, should we just hold off on posting in this forum until the end of the season?

I'm starting to see why no one here takes you seriously. You remind me of this guy...

The guy has played really well thus far and has continually shown improvement over the past couple years when he was basically labeled a bust after 1.5 seasons.

Thats all there is to it fellas. Forget sample sizes. Noah is getting better and thats what its all about, improvement.

People were quick to point out Deng's failings and now are pointing out Noah's success. This is part of what happens during the course of a 6 month long season. I can see improvement in Noah's game even without statistical proof. He is taking over portions of the game routinely now. He is making his presence felt and seems to want to be more than a rich man's Verajao.

He could legitimately be an allstar center. Haven't had one of those around here in 30 years.

First off, I would like to say that this is my first post on this site. I am a longtime poster/blogger on CBSsports.com and I got an invite to this site. I thought it was going to be just another fan created site with no activity. I was wrong. This site looks like it is thriving. That is nice to see and I should be around here a bit now.

Anyways, on to the subject at hand. Joakim Noah. I predcited before the season began that he would have a statline like this: 12.5 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1spg, 2 bpg, while shooting .500 from the floor (you can check out my blog on CBSsports.com). Anyways, I was taking into account that Carlos Boozer was going to be on the floor, and I think that once Boozer is inserted into the lineup you will see Noah's numbers in PPG and RPG drop, but perhaps not as low as I thought. The key has been mentioned and that is the fact that Noah is staying out of foul trouble and that is keeping him in the game. I think Noah could still lead the league in rebounds once Boozer returns and I think Noah is a lock for the Allstar game as long as he stays healthy.

The Bulls could very well have 3 Allstars this season with Rose (a lock and could even be a starter), Carlos Boozer (Bosh and Stat are his only two real challenges), and Noah (who should be a coaches choice). It has been a long time since we had 3 Allstars on our team. Even if only Rose and Noah are selected I will be happy.

Right, because that's exactly what I was saying. You're off your game, dip shit.
