Well, I suppose if someone is willing to part with a 5th for John Scott, ya take that pick it in a heartbeat. But Christ, now we'll have to see more of Euro-charmin-softy (Frolik), Gimpy (Morrison), and Slippery (Shaw). Oiy.

The only good thing about this is the end of the moronic posts that assert how Scott is completely "worthless" and doesn't belong on an ANY NHL roster. I've always said he'd be picked up by someone in a heartbeat if he ever hit the waiver wire...and the best team in the NHL (points earned/game) in the NHL flipped a 5th rounder for him.

They paid for him because they know they'll probably have to go through Boston.

Luckily (or sadly), the Hawks won't have to worry about matching up against Boston.

I'll also add- the amount of hatred that Scott garnered here wasn't really due to any fault of his own. The issue came with the way Q played him. Keeping him on the bench as a 7th d man and only dressing him for necessary games was the way he should have been handled. He was a wild card that was to be played at VERY specific times. That's it and that's all.

That's assuming the Hawks will only see "skilled" teams in the playoffs, though, which is poor fortune telling, imho. He could most likely make a difference presence alone against Vancouver, San Jose, St. Louis...and there may always be a surprise series team that busts out the physicality that they didn't exactly show over the course of the regular season.

So possibly poor planning or a different message, or challenge, is being sent to the team by Stan.

Agreed on his utilization by Q.

I guess the thought is that if Bieksa wants to tango, Q has Mayers in his pocket for that duty now. Maybe Bieksa will actually agree to that one

agreed.

I see a Detroit vs Boston Stanley Cup Final.

You held a sign advocating fans not to say what I feel like saying right now. :smug:

Man, I'm lost -why is that funny? You do know that the Rangers have been known as the Broadway Blueshirts (granted usually by some really old guys), right? Or did you think they were talking about themselves and were wrong?

Or did they get the height and weight wrong? Or was it that since they were supposedly in Canada that they had no business not using metric?
