John Scott is the best defenseman the Blackhawks have.

He's an enforcer. Joe also hates him, like he hates Viktor.

with Mayers, CarBomb & O'Donnell, this ass hat serves no purpose.

Cut his ass & be done. He didn't stop Burish or Ott from doing anything yesterday.

signing montador, odonnell, carcillo, mayers....there really is no point in having him on this team. last year we had no one besides him that would do any enforcing, now we have a surplus.

Ott needed a beat down - like usual. I think if Mayers hadn't already fought early, he would have given him some. Someone needed to. Ott is a huge chump.

Burish though... he was just being himself. He started some shit at the end of the 2nd period after the horn blew and then he started shit right at the end of the game by running Mayers. In other words, typical Burish- yap all game and then start shit when you know you don't have to answer for it. He did have a nice assist which was unusual.

But ... considering that Burish has built his career upon being fast enough to run away (or skate away) from anyone who can kick his rear -that is hardly surprising that he would be successful from running away from Johnny.

Pronger wasn't wrong about Burish -and I'm pretty happy he is on a "class" team like the North Stars. . .

Scott needs to beat the shit out of some more people and then we can get rid of him. Hoping for a Scott-Westgarth rematch, lol.

Thing is with Scott is no one is going to take his challenge except when there another heavyweight. Scott doesn't go out there and took stupid penalties to get the guys to fight, which is a huge plus.

The guys we signed are really good physically but what happens when someone like a MacIntyre, Godard, Orr, or Westgarth needed to be stood up against? It wont be pretty as none of the guys on the team are heavyweights. We have been through all of this last year, when Scott plays, Q plays him for a reason, which means John Scott plays end of story.

True, but Scott gets burned by Burish and Kruger has to take a penalty. I'm not too sure he will get much more playing time at all...hell, he didn't play after the first period the other night. Once Smith, Stalberg, and Carcillo are good to go...I donno.

Yup.
Dressing 7 D-men just so that one can warm the bench after the first was a dumb move by Q. Anyone else can back check better than Scott. Hell, I'd rather have Q dress a forward that never played D. Nothing like shortening the bench after the first.
John Scott is one of the nicest guys in the game.
He can be one of the nicest guys outside of it too, so put him up in the press box, or free up the 512K cap hit.
