If you're going to learn how to be a better pro there's no better former Bears player to learn that from than Alex Brown. Brown was a consummate professional who worked his ass off and played his ass off to get the most from his abilities. A guy who became a dynamic run defender and a solid pass rusher one of the most underappreciated players from the Super Bowl team defense of '06 to '11.

I really hope this pushes Bullard in the right direction and turns him into a solid pro.

Sure would make life easier if Pace hits on all his picks.

One of my favorite Bears in my lifetime. How many DE's were able to drop into coverage like Brown did?

For real. If a GM don' hit on all dur picks, dey gots da go!

That draft class is already solid with Floyd, Whitehair and Howard, but can you imagine adding Bullard as a starter and maybe even Hall?

I remember they were knocking Brown's work ethic and calling him lazy coming out of that draft. Just goes to show that scouts and so called executives don't know shit about players sometimes.

Its twofold there really. Sometimes evaluators are looking too hard for ghosts or reasons to drop a player's rating. They also can never truly know how driven a player is to succeed.

I loved the Alex Browns, Hunter Hillenmeyers, and the Israel Idonijes. The guys who were solid pros and never complained about positional or schematic changes. The guys that just brought it and gave it their all.

My college roommate's wife's father owned a bar Alex would frequent in Bourbonais. I've chatted with him a few times. Really good dude.
