I don't know if it'll happen but I expect the Cubs to be bidders for Fielder and Reyes.
With 50 mil coming off books why cant they get both Reyes and Fielder?
Yeah Castro in CF is terrible.
I will say though (before Dewey comes in here and cries that we won't do it) a top of the lineup of Reyes, Castro, Fielder would pretty much be the tits (it won't happen though).

cries? sorry buddy, realistic. its ok to have pipe dreams.

He clearly said it won't happen
I like how it says that fielder and Pujols have uncertain futures lol & Reyes doesn't?
I just set my watch with that. Uncanny!
Screw that, keep Castro @ short, his bat holds up better there. He still has plus range so he is barely a negative on defense last I checked.
Jackson will be in CF.
I wouldn't mind replacing Barney at 2B, but I don't think it is necessary and I'm not sure if Reyes would want to move there.
The more I think of it the better off we would be moving one of them (Castro/Reyes) to 3B.

I'm sure he can, but the bigger question is he willing to play there when he gets to dictate where he goes this offseason. Can Reyes not play 2B?
Replacing Ramirez with Reyes is a much smaller effect on the offense than replacing Barney. The main reason to go with Reyes over the slugging 1B is that we could get average to above average production at 1B by keeping Pena. Though would anything get through that side of the infield with those two?

I have always said, put Reyes at third but can he and will he play 3B...that's the bigger question. But Reyes and Castro on the same side, may be good. I'm all for it and wish it were to happen.
