Rumors are that he might get sent on his way out of NY this season. He would like to stay but the Mets have money issues. Anyone think we could give him a shot? Move him or Castro to 2nd base and movve Barney to 3rd when Aramis leaves. Just food for thought

I'm for it, if price is reasonable. Both in trade and contract. Reyes and a good 1B will be sweet but also a dream. But that takes power away but contact is probably better. Not all the time, tho.

4 weeks ago i would has said HELL YES.. Now that Barney is playing well i dont think it matter much right now. Now if Barney starts to stuggle and come July and cubs still in race i think it will have to be revisted. Also Barney can not play 3B.

He can...

But no, I say keep Castro and Barney where they are and bring back Ramirez for one for season before turning it over to Vitters, Smith, or Flaherty.

Can Reyes play 3B? I don't know, just wondering. He probably can but may not be too good.

No, waste of money save it for the bigger named/ producing free agents out there this winter. Barney is playing great for a 2B! No room for a often injured, overpaid and declining Middle infielder. I'm sure if they did trade for him Barney would be in the package so he wouldnt be here to play 3b and he would be a :turrible: 3bagger. Keep it for now if you are looking for a trade do something in the Starting Pitching and try shipping that ass clown Dumpster out.

3B is a POWER position. Talks of Barney, Reyes 3B is a joke. Looking at FA to be at 3B market A-Ram is the BEST. If Cubs want to lure a FA like Prince to Cubs they will need protection behind him. No FA will come to Cubs if they have no 4 hole hitter. A-Ram would be protection. Vitters would not be.

This is the FA to be for 2012 FA market for 3B ^.....Again A-Ram best option and to lure a big power bat like Fielder or Pujols need to show them Cubs WANT to win. Bringing up unproven player does not do that.

Yuck not shit out there for 3b. Gotta resign him and hope that because he is the best available there is not a bidding war for him. Give him 2 more years and then look to the minors for our next.

I think he will want 3-4 year deal. He and his agent knows he will be the best FA on 3B market. So far his avg been decent. Would like for him to hit for more power but i think that will come. A-Ram is one of my favorite Cubs so im prolly biast but would love to see him in Cub uniform for another 3-4 years.

I'm sure that is the ammount of years he wants, i just hope the cubs dont cripple themselves trying to hold onto him. If he demands too much let him go and get a serviceable guy for a year and hope vitters is ready to go. I know you said we will need protection for a BIG NAME free agent yea we will maybe we will have to go and get another to secure One of the big two first basemen.

As of right now there just no room for him on Cubs roster....again if Barney starts falling off which wouldnt surprise me then yes then go get Reyes for 2B. That would take care of lead off spot for years to come. I personally dont think Barney will keep it up and will be utility player for his career.
