Something else a lot of fans don't realize is that the Bear could easily find another $7.5m or more in cap space with a Jay restructure. Wouldn't affect Jay in any way but $1.5 a year over 5 wouldn't kill you even if you decided to move on after 3. Even an accelerated $2.25 each for 2 years if you cut him after 2 isn't a big deal. Doesn't look like where they want to go this year but the options are there with how that contract was done. It seems, however, like they want get out from under their debt this year so that they have a normal hand to play with next year on.
