Maybe that's why the smell is so intoxicating and addictive.

I go to the auction on thursdays, il see whats out there at a wholesale price. what kind of car are you looking for.

Man thats cool of you. My brother always said this site was sweet, but I don't think I ever fully understood to what level. This just proves he wasn't exaggerating. If I were him I'd be doing one of these numbers about now.

People are already paranoid about something that has been happening for some time?

what actually sucks is the fact that at the auto auction for dealers, the prices of used cars are through the fucking roof. the cars are above wholesale, and dealers are losing money because they probably took the car in on trade for too much (above wholesale) and it sat 90 days gaining interest on the lot, now they have to factor that in plus the cost of the car that they proabably took in for too much to make the deal.

New car prices and used are going to be insane in the next couple of years.

they are saying that the supposed toxins are new. I get new dealer demos from a few places every few weeks to use to do their buying and selling and I love the new car smell, and dont give a ****. everything is linked to cancer and what not.

Ain't that the fuckin truth. Everything should just come with a disclaimer "eventually you are going to die."

That's depressing. "Cash for Clunkers" had an adverse affect, eh; who'd thunk it?

Depreciation would be the major reason to buy used.

Aye, also tack on interest since 0% isn't as easy to find as it once was. That was a huge advantage when I bought new 10 years ago. Sadly, I'm thinking it's about that time and I'll be in the market this spring/summer and I'm really, really leaning towards leasing.

Yea thats no good. I was watching some auction for collectors the other day, and cars were going cheap on there (a few Corvettes in great condition went for less than 11k), but I'm sure what I consider cheap, and you consider cheap, especially at wholesale, are completely different leagues.

As you should be. I'm a finance manager at a dealership and I detail out leasing to every single one of my customers. There are just too many benefits to leasing, many people don't understand or realize. Most lessees save up to 70% on taxes alone, since you're taxed on the monthly payment, on a lease, not the sales price. On top of that, it boosts your credit sore instantly because of the net to debt increase you receive. Unless you can get 0% financing, leasing is absolutely the way to go.
