It’s impossible to tell, the question is how are so many scouts so wrong about this position? Most positions to be honest.

This is also why you should draft a QB almost every year this late in the draft.

The same team spent 3 first round picks on a dude that will never play again in the NFL too.

Best roster, best coaching and one of the top GMs.

they a .500 team at best with Trey Lance bruh.

Purdy is HOT. He playing like Josh McCown did when he took over for Jay. Too bad Cutler had just signed his mega deal cause McCown was comfortable with Trestman's system and built good chemistry with both Alshon and Marshall.

WOW!

Currently, Purdy is surrounded by the best roster in the NFL with talent oozing at every position group on both sides of the ball. If you stuck Purdy on the 2022 Bears he would have been sacked into oblivion and struggled all year long. The Bears are practically devoid of talent. Currently, it's not a fair comparison.
Great point. How much easier would it be if the Bears had Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Jauan Jennings, and arguably the best offensive line in football?

Trey lance played 1.5 games. How can you have any opinion of him. Meanwhile purdy had several more months to learn the system and played with McCaffrey.

Anyone coming to any conclusions on a rookie with 1.5 games of experience is delusional

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
Purdy is right there with Hurts for being in the best position in the NFL. Anything past 20 yards, Purdy is garbage throwing up ducks to elite talent. His poise is very impressive, but he will be tested, maybe even by Dallas this weekend. The overall team is so great it's hard to fail in that system. He's Nick Mullens from 2019, honestly.

Lance has a shorter hook and hope period because he proved absolutely nothing in college.

He’s just a pipe dream. I don’t give him the same benefit of the doubt as Fields and I think there is a very high chance Lance sucks.

McCown was a seasoned vet and Purdy was a rookie Mr. Irrelevant.

Nobody should have a bad word about him.

He even beat Brady in his first game. Chilling.

5 of the last 6 games with Purdy starting the 49ers have put up 30++ points in each.

Look at Trey Lance stats, lol. Same O line, same coordinator, same headcoach, etc

Trey Lance did not have McCaffery, and Kittle was hurt too.

Lance is also a huge project, having not taken a snap in two years and coming from a terrible conference. Purdy was a four year starter. Clearly ready to step in and operate.

Don't be an idiot.

Purdy looks like a gamer for sure, and I can't knock what he's doing. Trey Lance might be out of a job in San Francisco.

I don't think it's a knock on Justin to say that as of now Purdy is making quicker, snappier decisions with the ball, and it looks like he's winning from the pocket. He has a much better roster around him, but he's putting his part in to help them as well.

With that said I hate that nuance seems lost on people, but I guess that's par the course for the media. I don't even know why he felt the need to bring Justin up in the conversation. Fields is promising, but very much a work in progress. We know the Bears suck ass, the players need to improve, and we need a massive talent injection on both sides of the ball. Whether Justin fails or not has no bearing on what Purdy and the 49ers are doing. The media should be asking how much the Niners can get for Lance in a trade if Purdy keeps this up.
I bet the 49er's would love to have all those 1st round draft picks back now.

Well at this point in time he is leaps and bounds better then Fields

Lets compare some games here

Number of starts
JF - 25
BP- 6

over 200 yard passing games?
JF - 6 times
BP - 5 times

Multi TD passing games?
JF has 6
BP has 7 (yep he has more multi TD games then starts)

Number of 300 yard passing games?
JF - 0
BP - 1

Basically BP is better in pretty much every passing category so far as a rookie, and with over 4 times the starts JF has only one more game that he threw over 200 yards compared to BP? its pathetic, why would you even try and argue this? Right now Fields is a terrible passer, you pointing to a rookie QB that is way better of a passer is doing Fields no favors here.

We have a great running QB that sucks as a passer right now, it is what it is...
