If the rest of the lineup can handle the defensive switching there is no doubt that the lineup would be improved, and would definitely help take some pressure off of Alex Rios have to be repeating his numbers from last year. It would be nice for all sides involved, but the question comes down to return. The Cubs are in a real tough spot with the very limited options to deal him, but if the Cubs are making him a 5 million a year guy that has value when the Cody Ross's of the world are making nearly 9 per year. It will be interesting to see, but I have a hard time seeing Soriano moved with how restrictive he is going to be in where he would go because I don't see the Sox offering anything of value in this scenario.
Sox are on the small list of teams he would go to. as far as what you would get back, depends on what money is being moved. Our farm system may not have the "ranking" that keith law loves to give, but as I have mentioned before....GMs like Beane and Hahn have made comments about trades and how rankings have nothing to do with getting deals done when certain teams are looking for specifics. With that said our farm doesnt have enough to land a guy like lets say stanton, but Im sure we have the pieces to get Soriano.
Doesn't his bat make our lack of a lefty bat all the more? Especially since he's not an impact bat any more.
he can still hit bombs. and at the cell he would hit a shitload.
