My son is smarter than me, you & probably all your kids too. He is graduating high school & community college ths spring. Yes, he is getting his diploma and his associates degree while in the honor society for both as well. He has never recieved anything but an A... when his report card comes home I find myself asking him things like "you are only getting an 93 here, what is going on in this class?"

He scored a 1480 on the new SAT and decided he wants to study Physics at one of these three colleges. Texas Tech, University of Houston, University of Texas. ALL THREE HAVE OFFERED HIM FREE TUITION! And two are offering him more money for housing & books! He will have his bachelors degree in 2.5 years and be debt free.

Heres the thing about my son though... school work doesn't come easy for him. He spends alot of time to get shit done and most nights school work is all he has time for. He has worked his ass off and I couldn't be more proud of him!

I guess you don't love him if you are sending him to Texas Tech or University of Texas. I'm just kidding but University of Chicago has a pretty good Physics program.

There have been a total of 29 Nobel Prize recipients in Physics connected with the University of Chicago.

Thought about it and even visited when we where home last summer. It was His decision to go to a university in Texas because they will honor his current credits thus graduating faster. He still will retake Physics and maybe calculus because each Physics department highly recommended that he do so.

That's great! Your son is going places and well done to you for raising such a wonderful boy. Parents often don't get the recognition they deserve for the dirty, exhausting, painful job they do.

P.S Please make more intelligent children. We need more of those.

Awesome. My one piece of advice for him though, don't rush through college in 2.5 years even if he can. Tell him to take his time and enjoy it. Just my opinion.

I always loved Physics. If I didn't go into accounting, I might have gone into that field; specifically astrophysics.

Congratulations. I have 2 little ones and I work with them on a variety of educational things every day. I hope to be in similar shoes one day. Bravo, Pops.

I will echo the sentiments a poster above mentioned. Make sure he has some fun at school. College or dorm life is also about experimenting socially. Some of the best times I ever had was answering the knocking at my dorm room door at 2:00 AM.

Epic.

Excellent job for all of you!
I'd second to take your time in college if needed.

Your son is an amazing example of why parents need to have their kids put more time in the books as opposed to looking for athletic scholarships. Of course, football and basketball at D1 are full rides, but the non-revenue generators? Not so much. There is so much more academic money available. You should definitely be a proud dad!

Books... my wife stated reading to him when we found out she was prego and it turned into a big part of his daily routine. She read to him every day until he learned to read. After he was able to read he spent a lot of time reading... so much that our border collie shreded his books one day in a jealous fit. His books were the only thing our dog ever chewed up haha. When he learned the joy of video games we would require equal time for video games & reading, becuase we are mean like that! When he was in 5th?? Grade he asked for a kindle for Christmas so obviously he still loved reading haha

Yep. Mine doesn't like to read. He's only getting a 50% schollie for baseball. :D
