And I have to say eff my life. To my surprise, the last time I went to the Dentist they told me they would put me under, which relieved me. But, right when I was being prepped to begin I asked to confirm and they told me "Oh no, you'll just be highly sedated, but still responsive". Guess it gives me to catch up on Game On Thrones. The procedure lasted almost 3 hours.

Has anybody else had this done? Any horror stories?

Yeah, had all four pulled at once. I was awake too and the Novocain just didn't cut it. I have small teeth at at one point the dentist said "hold still, I have to chisel some bone". It was hell, and it sucked for many days after that while healing.
Did you have all of them pulled?

I did have all four pulled. One tooth came in sideways and was starting to push against the bottom of my teeth. That one had to be broken in half before it got pulled.

It's gonna be hard to chew as you already know. For protein, I was eating a lot of Taco Bell pintos and cheese. The re-fried beans are easy to eat and you don't have to chew like with a burger or steak. Don't use a straw with drinks either. Dry socket.

They knocked me out, took out my teeth, then gave me vicodin. It was heaven on earth for me, except for the part that I got hooked on vicodin.

For now i've been eating mash potatoes but i'm craving meat. Probably because I know I can't have any. I still can't believe how bad i'm bleeding from my mouth. The vicodin helps.

They should give you the choice. My mom had a choice and was put under.

I was under that impression but somebody told me that the choice depends on if you're at the oral surgeon or dentist office. Not sure how much merit that line has.

Because of the drugs I couldn't piss for about 8 hours after waking from surgery. I was in terrible pain. Walking around the back yard pleading to God to let me pee.

I know you wont beleive this but I had 3 of my 4 wisdom teeth pulled with no Novocain or anything. I have off the chart tolerance to pain in my teeth based upon a childhood dental experience. So I have has wisdom teeth pulled, root canal, fillings all with no Novocain. I'm a legend in my dental office

When you start feeling good in a couple of days stick with soft food. Day 3 I ate a steak and hurt like hell for a week.

The pain was not even the problem for me during the day time while awake. It was during the night time when I was trying to go to sleep. I couldn't lay flat and had to keep my head elevated. I am not used to sleeping like that so in reality I didn't get much good sleep until days later when the bleeding stopped. I had to get one tooth pulled immediately since the pain was unbearable and then I got the other three done months later. Two of them had to be broken into pieces to get them out and one required a bit of bone being cut. All in all not too terrible but not an enjoyable experience either.

Some dental insurance will not pay for the knockout anesthesia. My wife went with my daughter to get her teeth pulled and they told her the knockout anesthesia would be a $400 charge because the insurance didn't cover it. Well, lets just say the local and sedation wasn't doing well masking the pain of having 4 teeth pulled in prep for orthodontics. My daughter was screaming and crying and the wife nearly had a stroke because it was her not wanting to pay the extra $$$ that caused it.

My wife also had a minor injury to a nerve having her wisdom teeth out, the root on one side was very close to the nerve. Lost feeling in half of her lower lip for several years, it sort of came back but not completely. Its one of the risks of the procedure they should explain when you sign the consent form for it.

Never got my wisdom teeth pulled, partially because I never got wisdom teeth... Dentist said I'm part of the 1% or some shit that will never get them. No clue why.

There is no fucking way I could do that. My teeth are insanely sensitive.

Had mine pulled a year ago, I was sedated and I actually paid about $120 extra just so I would be. Was a pretty odd experience but it wasn't horrible.
