Another part of the equation on why his market isn't very good right now. Although, his 5th year option is very reasonable, and a team could always tag him after that. There is an avenue for his next 3 years to be very do-able $$$ wise.

I'm on the keep Feilds bandwagon, but if he's anywhere near 30 mil. I'd be out. He's not a top 25 out of 32 . His value at this point is about what the 5th year is valued at. Anything more than that, no one is paying from what he's shown.

True but we know he's about $4mil next year and $23mil the year after that if we decide to keep him for that by May 3rd. No need to project those 2 years and plenty of time to find another hyped QB in 2 years.

$40mil projections are only if he suddenly turns it on and what are the odds of that?
The question now is if Williams can be the QB worth $50mil starting a rookie career with the team the Bears will likely have. Or will there be better within the 2 years we could have Fields cheap-ish.

Sam Darnold got traded for like a year 2 second and fourth pick, then he went on to make like 3 or 4 million last year. And that was after playing fairly decent for Carolina in year 5. Things would have to change in a huge way for $48 million. Maybe they will, but to project that right now when these rumors of nobody wants him is insane. Although I do not believe those rumors.

Compared to baseball and basketball football players still deserve more.

Although MLB's minor leagues absolutely screw their players so bad it should be illegal so I guess it works out.
