So basically every single person who criticized this guy had the same two issues, and the major one was Justin's strange hesitation in the pocket. Since then I've read numerous stories citing Ohio State's route trees being separated routes for each WR depending on what's happening to them in coverage and they can change routes on the fly mid play.

Couple questions

1) Does that have any truth to it whatsoever and if it does how did all of the draft journalists not know this/see this before and understand what was happening?

2) If it is legitimate and OSU is really running this wild whacky WR adaptation route tree that causes the QB to pause and evaluate their moves, does this make Justin Fields the greatest QB prospect of all time?

There's nothing wacky about the Ohio state system. It's just a scheme choice. If they are all on the same page, it shouldn't take long to figure out where the WR is going but there's also a trust factor to it. You need to certain the WR saw the same thing. At the end of the day, the results were there so he obviously didn't hold on to it TOO long.

Here, the scheme will give him a read at or right after the snap. We'll see how he does but really, that's why it's good to have a guy with mobility. Teams will mess with his looks, especially early, but if you can keep a play alive, you can also burn them for it.

Its legitimate but it's hardly wild and wacky. They're called option routes and been part of the game for a long time. Think of it as a two way go based off of a few different factors but the most common is how the free Safety is shaded. The QB/WR are reading the same things in real time.

It was Pace's plan all along to initiate the leak. The timing was impeccable.

1) They are journalists. They are paid for clicks, not their knowledge of the game.

2) Many NFL offenses run a option system like that. So if anything, it helped prepare him for the pros.
