Out of every other position, yes.
Out of every other position, yes.
Upton is on pace to hit like only 14 HR's this season....
A hot streak here or there would change his "pace".
I like the trade speculation, I just don't think it will happen.
And Starlin Castro has a .312 OBP right now. I think we can all agree that both of these players are likely far better than what they've shown this season.Upton is on pace to hit like only 14 HR's this season....

Yes, but look at Upton's track record. We're talking about a guy who will show up big for one year... then almost take the next year off.... come back big again.... then take another break. Remember Soto's first 4 seasons.... and Upton's track record is eerily similar. Even his big years decline from the previous big years. Plus, if you talk to people who actually watch the DBacks day-in and day-out.... they'll tell you that Upton isn't the same guy this year. All are signs that... he's turning into a young bust. So, there is cause for concern there.
Plus, everything stated about Soler pretty much projects him as a Justin Upton (at his best) kind of guy. Granted, he's still years away from the majors. However, if he can provide that power from the right side in 3-4 years, why sacrifice a young player who has the potential to become the best SS around the game in the next 2-3 years as well?

Well seeing as this trade would be more geared towards future seasons....we shouldn't really care.
Unless it's a sign of things to come for Upton. If it's just a down year or maybe him being unhappy in ARZ I don't know. He is young enough still to be a solid player, but maybe he will always be inconsistent.
