Van Gundy does not like the Bulls & will never like the Bulls. His grudge goes all the way back to the 90's. He likes Thibs, of course, but other than that, he shits on everyone else on the team & within the organization. For a great basketball mind, he is incredibly moronic the majority of the time.

Can't believe I wanted this guy to be the Bulls coach back in 2008, Van Gundy is a moron.

Good stuff, but JVG was the first on the 73 win Heat bandwagon. So how is Friedell mentally ill for predicting 50 wins?

Not sure what this is in reference to. It's been quite the weekend. With the summer semester coming to an end, i've had quite a few drinks this week. Hopefully the past represents the future, so I'll be able to continue drinking heavily tonight.

I'm not the guy who thinks he's ill because of his prediction of 50 wins. I think he's ill for his banter. I don't think this team is terrible. Obviously, without rose, it's going to struggle. I get the argument for moving the guys. I understand there's a repeater tax. If there is a year to not pay the tax, it's this year. Still the counterpoint remains, there was an opportunity to make this team better by trading korver, brewer, and watson for bad contracts. We didn't take the opportunity.

If you read the twitter responses between Blogabull and Nick, it becomes apparent nick really didn't see trading the expiring contracts for bad contracts as an option.

In his articles, friedell wrote about the plan, defending the "difficult position the organization was in." Even if he's not a staunch proponent of the organization's plan, his defense of it has made him the champion of this plan. I think most fans are rather peeved at him for that. I am as well.

You must not have listened to the interview.

The contracts they have in place are all set to expire by 2014...I don't see what the problem is. Their plan is to have money available for that class. Deng's contract expires I believe, they can amnesty Boozer and will only have Rose and Noah's salaries on the books...with team option years on Butler's rookie contract. What is wrong with that plan? I don't see the problem...

As long as the bulls management keep the bulls below an elite level and the heat keep winning, I can understand why you don't see any problem.....you never do

The free agent class you refer to that the bulls are saving for isn't anything to dream or brag about.

Who the **** are we saving money for?
The return of michael jordan?

The bottom line is the bulls front office have failed to make any significant blockbuster moves or signings in more than a decade. And don't lie to yourself anymore claiming that the bulls didn't miss opportunity after opportunity.
That's bullshit.
And getting rose was just luck so don't give me any crap about crediting paxgarjerry for that.

This shows why you should take up knitting. There might be a dozen or so players in that class better than anybody on the roster besides Rose.

But yeah, keep criticizing the Bulls for not getting J.R. Smith and Ben Gordon...whatever makes you feel important.

What are you planning on doing with taj gibson? If you keep taj, I'm not sure you're getting anyone beyond 10 million dollar player.

Hou, I left for a year. I came back to find somethings never change. You're still a staunch defender of the organization. ;)

Since when is Taj worth 15mil+? I would say by then the salary cap will be at about 60-62mil? If that is the case...the Bulls will be paying Rose and Noah 33mil? Butler will be at a little over 3mil. Taj is not worth what you have him slated for...if he gets that elsewhere...then so long to him.

Do I have frustrations with the front office? Yes I do. But its totally different from others. I understand the importance of building around 2-4 players and complimenting those players with role players...and when you don't have the right core...you won't win. I don't quite understand why people are so upset about the bench mob...when the core is not championship level.

Miami, OKC, Lakers...these are elite teams with championship cores. They don't just have top level franchise players...but the 2nd guy is an allstar...and in some cases...the 3rd guy! I just wonder if some of you pay attention or just show up here to horde attention (well, one of the posters on here definitely is here for attention and nothing else...). Why in the hell are people pissed about the bench? Who care?

People want to see big names...though some don't know enough NBA players league-wide to give the Bulls much of a selection to pick from. Bellinelli doesn't do for them what J.R. Smith would do...because he is a bigger name. Never mind that he is a career underachiever who may never consistently start for a solid NBA team...he is a bigger name. So why get rid of Brewer for a young Butler or get rid of Korver for Bellinelli...why let Watson go for Hinrich? Because it makes sense!

I just wish more people were concerned with Forman's constant stated happiness with the core as opposed to understanding the core has to change. Then again his actions are showing that he may not be as happy with the core as it seems. He knows the Bulls need another core player.

"The salary cap will likely rise to around 62 million over this stretch, but if the Bulls go into this off-season with a core of:
Rose
Noah
Gibson
Mirotic
Butler
Teague
2 rookies

They'll have less than max cap room to fill out the team. If they drop off Gibson, they'll have max cap room, but they'll also need to fill up the roster with another starting caliber player"
