Looking forward to all the "herp derp Kane the cabbie beater" posts on all the boards. St. Louis will win it, EC bias again.

Bergerons to lose.

Isn't this the sissy award that only shitty players win and fellow NHLers laugh at the winner?

I learned that when Kane was informed of this, he asked, "Is she hot"?

Marty probably wins this until he retires.

Lady St. Louis award

I'm surprised Datsyuk wasn't a finalist though.

Fun fact: Bobby Hull won the Lady Byng trophy once... and probably beat his wife with it.

I can honestly say I don't understand the criteria for this award... Who do you judge more gentlemanly? Why Kane? Why not Sharp or Keith? I mean did they just throw him int here to make sure a Blackhawk was represented in all awards?

The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, formerly known as the Lady Byng Trophy, is presented each year to the "player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability".The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy has been awarded 87 times to 52 different players since it was first awarded in 1925.

Its both the low PIMS with the high skill as well.

He went from 40 PIMS to 8 (prorated 14PIM for a full season)

But his 55pts in 47gms played a big part as well

Yeah, I read that on Wikipedia too but it still doesn't really define anything. I guess the most points with the least amount of penalties it is then... just odd. I don't get how that translates to high sportsmanship but she can do whatever she wants with her award... well I guess not anymore but whatever.

Was there any major awards that a hawk wasn't nominated for?

Yea... to no one's surprise, Lundqvist was nominated again.

Bobrovsky should win though.
