How do you compare the two? I am asking because I think Kane is a better hockey player than Toews but a lot of people like to make the argument that Toews is better.

You guys know my feeling on Toews so I'm hoping someone can change my mind.

If I'm starting a team, I draft Crosby #1 and Kane #2. If Toews was still around in the 5th or 6th round, I'd take a flyer (not the NHL team).

I wouldnt draft either of these guys next year in a fantasy league though. Toews gunna be ripped all summer and fat on fries and wake boarding while kane is gunna get fat on frozen yogurt and ridding dirty in limos.

Both gunna suck next season and be blinged out assholes.

Keith on the other hand will be rocking out to outlaw metal and doing the ranch workout all offseason in a grizzly bear hide. Hes gunna fucking explode next season right out of the gate.

Toews even as a 28 year old players is already considered one of the best players in history.... Kane is great. Together they are just that much better and both will be in HOF. I'd take toews over any player in hockey.

A true leader. A very good defensive forward. Can score when needed. Last two weeks of season with Kane out, he scored a bunch.

He will never be confused with Gretzky who is all time best, or Lemieux, who was an all time great scorer. But he is on a path to the Hall of Fame.
He has won at every level - multiple times. He is smart as hell and does what it tskes to win.
Go back and watch him in final two minutes of clincher over Bruins in2013. Unreal.

Jagr? No way better. Can't compare him to Gretzky or Lemieus. Different type of player. If toews wanted to. He would be able to easily be a 40-50 goal score every season. But in hockey now days. Thats not how you win. He can take over a game when he wants to. But will do it only when he needs to. There is many players in this league who are maybe more skillful or faster than toews. But not one can lead men like he can and not one of them can transform a good tea into a great team like he can. There is a reason why everyone who plays with toews becomes better. When his career is over. Toews will be in HOF. Probably have a statue outside and most like regard as top 3-5 player in history.

And if you really dont see that. That you really dont watch him close enough. Its really sad how Chicago fans take Toews for credit.

What league did Lemieus play in?

Not sure how any player would "easily" score 40-50 goals... not even Stamkos or Ovechkin have that mentality and they are way better than Toews.

You are right though... Toews can take over a game when he wants too, which isn't very often. He usually just seems distracted out there. All the tools are there but he just can't put his mind to it.

Too bad most of the time he is more worried about his offseason activities than training for the next hockey season.

Grim your assessment of toews is just strange and wrong. Year and after year team GMs say how great he is. Wasn't it aneheim's GM that said if they had toews they would have never lost the series. There is a difference between a best pure score mentality and a best hockey player mentality. Thats why guys like ovechkin will be considered one of the best scores. Not hockey players. Your judgment of toews is solely based on stupid goals stats. Go read on metrics. Toews blows them away.







Most best pure scores don't win cups. Maybe 1.. But not multiple. Especially in this generation of hockey.
