If you started a team, I would hope they would be in the Central so the Hawks could play them a lot. Maybe when you stop playing fantasy hockey you'll appreciate Toews a little more.

I would probably start the team in the Metropolitan devision. So maybe the Hawks could play my team in the finals?

LOL, Ovechkin and Stamkos are "way better" than Toews.

Grimson, you are high. Stop playing fantasy hockey.

  • WCHA Rookie of the Week — twice in 2005–2006
  • NCAA West Regional MVP — 2006
  • World Junior All-Star Team — 2007
  • Nominated for the Calder Memorial Trophy — 2008

  • All-Star selection of the 2010 Olympic Hockey Tournament
  • 2010 Winter Olympics — Best Forward
  • 2010 Stanley Cup Champion
  • 2010 Conn Smythe Trophy winner
  • Second-youngest to win the Conn Smythe Trophy (22 years, 41 days; only Patrick Roy was younger); youngest captain to win the Conn Smythe Trophy.
  • Youngest person to gain entry into the Triple Gold Club (22 years, 41 days at time last component was achieved)
  • Named full captain of an NHL team after only 64 NHL games; fourth youngest full captain (Landeskog, Crosby, and Lecavalier being the others) in NHL history and quickest by games
  • One of only six players to win Olympic gold and the Stanley Cup in the same year.
  • 2013 Frank J. Selke Trophy winner

I'd like to see any hockey player in the world to contend with that.

How many MVP awards? And I'm not talking about the Conn Smythe he stole from Niemi in 2010.

You're high if you think Niemi is the reason we won the cup in 2010.

People act like Kane is more skilled, however, Toews is freaking special in that department. Toews even has a higher Penalty shot % than...well anybody right? He can simply spot the puck and might have the most accurate shot.

His deception on the look away goal the other day in game 7, the second one, shows of his penalty shot skill. He is much more deceptive and shifty than his personalty distracts from. Kane can flat out skate. He has the best developed sticked skills maybe in league history. I heard him compared to Jordan, but Kane is more Pistol Pete, or Steph Curry. He has done all in his power to be the best he can be, but Toews is just naturally going to be better at certain things.

Toews penalty % and the way he can attack when he wants....I think if anything he is underrated by even being thrown into these conversations.

Fact is he was the best player for team Canada at times, yet Canada still wins world champs without Keith/Toews. Toews is one of the top 3 players in the league.

kane is the most unique player in the league, best dribbling skill in league history maybe. I don't see a lot of Kane deflections out of the air, leading me to believe he is either skating the perimeter or maybe he just wasn't born with that skill being the "very best in the league." You can't be best at every facet of hockey. Kane is best at 1 or 2 and is so good at them you start talking GOAT in certain areas.

Toews does all the little things and I've never seen a blackhawk ever just go decide to win the game himself like Jonathan Toews. Kane is a great player and I give him credit last year when Toews got injured he stepped up and acted and played like a Captain even if he never got the letter he played like it but when Toews is around Kane doesn't show leadership. I'm just happy we have both of them.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Toews is the better all around hockey player because of his checking and over-all defense. But Kane is one of the top three offensive players in the game. Hard to say who is more valuable.

It's kinda pointless to even compare them. We basically have 3 franchise players on this team that any team would love to build around... Toews, Kane, and Keith

I'd say all 3 of them are equally as valuable. They all bring different elements to the table.

How does kane not show leadership?

Demanding ice and the puck at crucial moments in a game sure screams leadership to me. Just because Kane isnt a vocal player on the bench like Toews is doesnt mean he doesnt show leadership qualities. This team is full of guys who lead in different ways. Keith, Seabs, Kane, Toews, Sharp, Hossa, Richards could all be captains of this team and any other.

Really MVP awards are your measuring stick?....

You really need to educate your self about hockey...

Who has more rings?

I've been watching hockey for 6 years, I'm more than educated. Thank you for your concern, though.
