Someone had mentioned a thread somewhere else just slamming Kane. I listened to something the other night where the commentary just crucified him...

And he is right now performing with a high ankle sprain...which in case if anyone ever had they would know is a nagging injury that will bother you for a veeeeeeeeeeeery long time.

Kanes been great lately he hasn't been an issue recently. He isn't posting the same numbers as last season and probably for various reasons (coaching, the injuries, the roster, etc etc). Everyone on this club has underperformed at some time this season. It just hasn't come together as we would of all liked and hoped.

Kanes not the real issue and I am tired of people trying to pin point things to one problem or player. Fact...it just hasn't come together this season. The issues have been wide spread and there has been bad luck in there.

With that said the way Kane has been playing lately the season is not done. Playoffs are still in reach and get in there and anything can happen.

Plus Kane has done good for me in my fantasy league this week.

He did well for me last week also. Too bad no one else on my roster stepped up and helped out. Just like real life!!!

It looks to me like his ankle is starting to get better. He has been solid over the last several games. We are seeing the Kane we were used to seeing last season. Kane has been the least of the Hawks' problems.

Whoever is blasting Kane is blind.

He has what, 4 goals in the last 3 games alone?

IMO the problem isn't in Toews, Kane, or Sharp. Once again, the missing depth is a glaring hole.

We had what, 15 hits against the Stars? They doubled that total over fairly easily. Pathetic!

Kane is not the goat/albatross, and anyone who says that is just taking random pokes. IMO, it is a two fold problem, number one they arent playing basic "tape-to-tape" hockey. They are tryin gto be too ute...they dont have the team they had last year and trying to play the high speed breakout hockey they did last year is obviously not working...get back to basic hockey.

And as has been pointed out by others, the complete lack of physicality.

Kane's play last night was awesome, and not just his offense, his two way play has also been phenomenal with three Hawks goals due to his causing a turnover in the last two games.

ROFL... what broadcast/radio show was crucifying him? I'd like to point out that last night he was a man on a mission and really fun to watch.

But as you know that type of injury can be reaggrivated at any time, with the slightest of weird movements of the ankle. Which explains why he's hot as hell for a few games and then cools off for a few games. He tweeks it.

Like Tony said the problem with this team is the grinders. The 3rd and 4th lines are not near as good as last year in talent. It is what it is. But to single out Kane. Fucking dumb.

Personally, I have no problem with Kane and his performance on the ice. He is one of the cornerstones of this team. My big issue with him is his attitude (or perceived attitude) off the ice. He comes off as arrogant, cocky, and an asshole. I realize he's a kid... It's just not quite in line with the attitudes I see from other key players. So while I want to see him rack up 100 points a season for this team, it doesn't break my heart when he gets laid out once in a while.

So sue me.

Not everybody can be Toews. He's a young kid who likes to have fun. I'm sure that Kane keeps things loose in the lockerroom and is a good counterbalance to Toews.

How that translates to not minding it when he gets laid out is beyond me.

Just equate it to how some people hate Crosby for his "whining," yet some love him and overlook it. Or how some people hate Ovechkin for his antics, while others get a kick out of it. I like Kane's play for this team, but from the times I've met him, and how he was a complete dick to a buddy of mine when a mutual friend of Kane's and his introduced them, I'm just not impressed by his cocky attitude.

Trust me, I used to bring down the hate on Kane his first two seasons with the Hawks. Then the night he gave that kid with cancer, his ceremonial, pink, faceoff stick, which when I found out from a source later (also known as RK) what that PK special ordered it and autographed it for the kid, I figured he might be changing his tune. He's really only 22, which is a year older then me, and I know plenty of cockier people.

The few interactions I've had with him have always been pleasant.

He's been nice to my kid which means a lot.

He's probably my favorite Hawks player, so I'm quite defensive of him.

Eh, when things are going bad people just look for someone to point the finger at rather than breakdown the problem....hell when things are going good people look to point the finger anyway.

Kane is far from the problem with the team this season. He is providing the offensive production and chances needed for this team to win.

As far as his cocky attitude...whatever. He is young, very talented at his job, and getting a ton of glory. There is going to be an air of cockiness for anyone in that situation. Hell I was when I had a completely successful and highly over profiting company in my early 20's. The work and money was so damn easy it was hard not to have a big head (in more ways than one).

However, I do not think of Kane's attitude as being an asshole in any shape or form. He had been pretty nice each time I have met him (then again, not shoving something in his face to be signed helps), and I was more than appreciative that he was one of 14 guys that came out to meet with each of us (about 30 people) after their evening practice for the last Vancouver game. He was chatty and more than happy to sign my One Goal Achieved book on the inside cover where he just begun to celebrate the cup winning goal...and he was chatting with everyone about anything. Actually the only thing I feel bad about is that when I noticed Pat come out to meet the fans, that I said "thank you Pat" to Skille...and then quickly corrected myself. LOL.

He gets blasted by dumb fucks that think every hockey player should be a fighter and be able to play physical.

It's not his game. He's been poorer defensively this year, but he's not the only one.

The first period was as dominant as I've ever seen him. Reminded me of Game six against the 'Nucks two years ago.

It bugs me still when the whole cabbie thing comes up.

Usually it's just some mindless prick, but still.

People believe the bad way before the good.

Good point in the last paragraph. I wasn't even referring to that aspect. We all know I know them on a personal level. I consider them some of the most dearest friends I have. That said Pat, just like the rest of the family, and I mean Uncles, Aunts, Grandfather have been nothing but excellent to me. Have extended their home to us and friendship. Pat is no different than the rest of them in this aspect.

Anyone saying poor things about that side of Kane I brush off as someone bitter who knows not what they talk about. Just like the Skille could be a cancer in the locker room. Fans often make up things to reinforce something else going on.

The parents are nice and they seem to have raised good kids.

Mr. Kane says hello to Becky by name when he sees her.

You know them better, but they seem down to earth folks.
