Pacers vs. Timberwolves | NBA.com

I can't believe this guy was originally left off the All-Star team this year and only made it as an injury replacement in the 11th hour (and not to mention that Tim Duncan and his 13 and 9 got the nod just because he plays on a loaded team and is Tim Duncan). *

People tell me, "Oh, that's because the west is loaded and the Timberwolves are a lousy team."

NO ONE HAS EVER DONE WHAT KEVIN LOVE HAS DONE THIS YEAR (with the exception of a young Chamberlain and Russell before they kept track of stats the way we do today). Just because he isn't the trendiest, most popular guy in the league that means he's not an All-Star, because the giggling teenage girls at the mall don't know who he is?

Kevin Love has already shattered the critics draft analysis of him that he was too short, too slow, too whatever. He just broke an impressive NBA record! From now on every time he posts a double double, he's setting an NBA record.

This guy is a great talent.

* Oh well, I suppose the Popularity Contest Game is just a silly exhibition. No need for me to get all excited about Kevin Love almost getting snubbed. It's just a meaningless exhibition. There's more important things to worry about than that I suppose.

Got into a debate on here over the issue...Love or Duncan...its a no brainer. I didn't think he should have been left off initially. Damn shame. You wonder why these players leave for bigger markets? Because as I stated before, if Love was in Chicago, the same people snubbing/ignoring him now would have been right on the Kevin Love bandwagon.

However, I blame the coaches...be smarter than that. Point blank...

While Tim Duncan is a shell of what he used to be, he can still be considered just as valuableas a player, for certain teams like the Spurs, because of what he can do on the defensive end and in the post on top of his solid rebounding.

I'm not one of those people. I'd take a healthy Boozer anyday over Kevin Love because of Boozer's low post game.

Kevin love's defense v boozer's defense, which is more pathetic?

Well, both are pretty bad. I'd go with Love's being worse because I've seen a lot of guys score right over the top of him on numerous occassions. I don't think either of them quite as bad as Zach Randolph's, Troy Murphy's, and David Lee's though if that says anything for them.

Did you just take the guy who was out for 3 months after falling over his gym bag over the guy who has more consecutive double doubles in the history of the NBA, whose averaging 21 points and who is leading the NBA in rebounds?

Drug test!

That doesn't mean he should be starting in the All Star team when in reality he's probably not even the 8th best power forward RIGHT NOW. Kris Humphries is out rebounding him. Kris Humphries!

I like love, but i'm not in 'love' with love. (see what i did there ;))

With that said, We have noah, we don't really need an elite rebounder, we need a scorer. I, like many others, would rather have a bosh or an aldridge, but boozer is a good player too. I'm too terrified of Amare's health to want him playing for the bulls.

Did you not see the word "healthy" that I inserted in there? Obviously, I would consider trading Boozer for Love down-the-line because of the injuries and age of Boozer relative to Love.

But who would I take THIS season: Love or healthy Boozer?

The sane choice is Boozer.

The problem with the word "best" is that it's subjective.

Duncan is the "better" post player and "better" rebounder. He's also "better" for what a team like the Spurs need. And that says a lot considering the Spurs have the NBA's best record and the Timberwolves are bottom 5 in that category.

And you do realize Kris Humphries is dating Kim Kardashian, right? If you were banging her, you would play your ass off every night to try to keep her impressed.

By the way, 9 rebounds is also a lot of rebounds. And he does it in less minutes than Love's 15+. It's hard to dismiss Duncan's rebounding, just like it is hard to deny Love's post-up game has improved.

But the defense is a huge difference.

And if Kevin Love was a Bull all along and Boozer was playing in Minnesota you'd be saying I was crazy if I suggested I'd rather have Boozer than Love.

You'd rather have 18 and 9 than 21 and 16 you be my guest. Homer!

See what I meant about the whole 'being an ass' thing?

First of all, you're being an ass. You're just assuming that I would say that when in actuality, you don't know as much about the game of basketball than most of the people of this forum. Most of the insightful comments you make are on an emotionally thought-out level and not on knowledge of the sport itself.

Are you going to tell me that the Bulls would be better on offense if they had no pick-and-roll offense? Good luck trying to get Love established in that kind of a scheme...

And you also do realize that the Bulls already pretty much grab EVERY rebound that they could be getting? Kevin Love on the Bulls instead of Boozer is not going to make this team that much better from a production standpoint on the Bulls. The team might literally average the same number of rebounds or a fraction of a rebound higher than if they had Boozer, like the way it is now.

I guarantee you that if Carlos Boozer was in Minnesota's paced offense (fastest paced in the NBA), that he would be averaging at least 25 points per game at, at least the same field goal percentage (if not much higher than Love's). More possessions = more FG attempts (thus more points) and more rebounds per game.

By the way...on the Duncan/Love argument...here is a quote from Duncan...

"I didn't expect to be there this year and I definitely didn't expect to start, so definitely a great honor," he said. "I don't know, year-in and year-out I continue to be on that starting squad. I really don't know why I'm there but I'll take it."

Case closed...
