This team did beat the Cavs at home without Garnett. They also beat Philly without KG and Ray Allen. I already have some friends saying we're gonna win the series. I'm not going that far. They're still the defending champs and won their fair share of games without KG.

And the Bulls are still the team that choked at home against a crappy Raptors squad.

But we also beat this Celtics team at home.

A lot has to do with Salmons like Doug said. It's what trio does better Rose-Gordon-Salmons or Rondo-Allen-Pierce

I hate to be happy that KG is injured, he's a class act. But it's great for the Bulls chances. I thought this might happen, I said so in one of the threads discussing which seed we'd want before the last game. Just had a hunch, since they were kind of quiet about KG's situation, that there might be more there than meets the eye.

I remember reading that....and I think you hit it dead on. They are "slowly" letting out how bad this injury he has really is. Maybe they've known all along he was going to be m.i.a. come playoff time, but didn't want to "drop the bomb" on the Celtic fans right away.

Either way, I think the Bulls can make this a series now. Probably wont win, wouldn't be shocked to see them still get swept by Boston (our defense is that bad folks) but hopefully we can protect our homecourt play with some intensity.

Ha I heard the kevin garnett news around 6am this morning on mike and mike yes I'm from Ny and I thought I was dreaming only to find out I wasn't I still think we lose this series but it'll be compettivie and we at least have a punchers chance and as much as I'm sure everyone hates luol deng for his crappy season it'd sure be nice to have him for this series to have a extra body who can disrupt paul pierce

Or perhaps they are exaggerating the extent of his injuries, so that KG gets to be the hero who battles through a broken leg to win the championship. Don't want to get too "conspiracy theory" on you, but it is a possibility.

Perhaps we will have another boston "bloody sock" incident?

I'm sorry, I can't believe that KG is out for the playoffs. He came back about a month ago and decent, I just don't get how he is completely out now. I also figured KG would be out there playing in a wheelchair if he had to.

I'm telling you this will come down to Rose's defense on Rondo..if he can just man up and not let him go off, this series will be longer than expected.

I think the Rose/Rondo matchup and the health of Salmons is what determines this series.

I think that interior defense will determine this series much like it has determained our success this season. If our interior D sucks like it usually does, Kenderick Perkins and Glen Davis will be able to man the post enough where the Celtics should still have no problem beating us.

Plus even if we win, it will always be the series we won "cause KG is injured". An extra week of basketball is always nice, but it isint the same if it wasnt really earned.

Well, let's see.

Instead of Garnett, we're up against Leon Powe and Glen Davis.

Regardless of how we look at it and try to analyze it, we have to look at one thing; Interior passing and interior scoring from Bostons end will be extremely limited without Garnett. Chicago now has a wide open lane to the basket, and Derrick can capatilize.

We have a good shot, guys.

I am pointing out how I'm not saying it, so you can draw your own conclusions on whether I told you so or not though.

Actually I believe you said that KG was not injured at all and it was just to rest him.

Wow feel bad for KG but we are about to eliminate the defending champs for the second time in what 3 years?

Hand on your heart.

Do you really?

Garnett has been a dick all year long and acted like a complete tool. I was one of his biggest fans up to this year, but he acted so stupid that I really don't feel for him. Had he not done all those insane things, I would probably still feel for him.

I'm not sure if were better off with KG out. Here me out. If KG is out we will be playing against a healthy Celtics starting line up that has been doing pretty well with Big Baby starting, he's no KG but he's good enough. If KG would of tried to play he wouldn't have been 100% so we could have taken advantage of that. KG is much better than Tyrus but with a bad wheel it would been hard for KG to keep up with TT. Also its not like KG wont be in the locker room and on the sidelines, so it may become one of those "Lets win this one for KG" things. All that said I'm still glad one of the big 3 is out.

He has been a dick even before this year however I feel bad for stars such as him whose careers start to fade.

Re:KG likely out for the entire playoffs

I mostly feel bad for hard-working players who are incredibly gifted but who have been nowhere near a ring their entire career. After KG won last year, he went waaaay down on my list. After Iverson just walked out on Detroit, he also feel considerably.

Numero uno right now: Derrick Rose :D

Seriously, before we got Derrick I had a list of people I wanted to see wing a ring. Now that list consist of 15 Bulls players - and then no on else.

And you think Big Baby can keep up with Tyrus any better? We need to run and keep running so they can't set up their D and we wear them down.

If KG tried to play, but was clearly terrible that would be even better for us, but I'll take him being out over him being healthy by a million.

I also don't feel bad for KG, besides acting like a jerk on the court this year, he got his ring last year.

Garnett makes $20+ mil/year and got his ring last year. Even if he wasn't a complete assclown on the court, no need to feel bad for this guy at all.

This is great news!! I just bought tickets to game 6 thinking that I will probably not end up going. Wow this is awesome. Now I am not so upset about last night. We match up fairly well with them now. Pierce is going to kills us though if Salmons is not 100%.

that's pretty great, it should be even better than orlando. now the matchups looked like:

derrick rose>rajon rondo:
like i've said in my last post, derrick should explode in the playoffs, and rondo can't play lockdown d on rose, because he takes care of the ball very well.

ben gordon>ray allen:
gordon is a rich man's version of ray allen, with less height though, but more skill.

paul pierce>john salmons:
salmons is good, but pierce is an mvp candidate:

tyrus thomas>glen davis:
this one is tough. but i think tyrus' game is difficult for davis to contain, because tyrus is ten times the athlete davis could ever be.

miller>perkins>noah:
perkins will outmuscle noah, but i think miller can handle him, and joakim will get his o boards.

chicago bench>c's bench:
the bulls have two players who would be starters on the c's, so our second unit should dominate.

doc rivers>VDN:
yeah.

i think chicago in 6, or we'll lose in game 7 in boston.

No, he's not:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAfp6ZCsvGc (check out the right side of the screen)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT8qLg2NjnQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubjOwMt6DjA (bogut flaps his arms and INADVERTENTLY touches garnett)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULFIglte2b0

or you can watch this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuxOKp7JtHo

just make sure to check out how

* he smacked tim duncan on the head from behind like a chickenshit

* after he hit peeler and peeler retaliated, garnett was too afraid to go at him. he just stood there, despite being twice the size of peeler.

* how he does the carmelo when faced with mcdyess (run, that is)

i like the fact that he gives everything on the court, but he's no class act. he picks on smaller players, on lesser players, never on stars, never on bigs.

i can respect barkley who acted tough against everyone. he jumped to fight shaq like shaq was 6'2. but garnett, he's a punk. he's a bully. i wish barkley was on calderon's or belinelli's team. he would have protected his teammate and would have flat out killed garnett for that shit that he pulled.
