So, update.

Kings in talks with George Karl which imo is the best thing to happen for our chances at this pick other than retaining Cousins and *** long term. Karl's system is like Phoenix with more passing, and will give them a competitive edge against tired teams in the grind. I like the move for them with a young team, and I think they are one player away from being a playoff team, in addition to the fact that there are free agents that may wish to play for Karl.
I hope it happens. Does it get us the pick this year? The Kings have to finish 11th or higher in one of the next 3 seasons.
Before Karl, the Kings are:
1.5 games behind Denver, Indiana (who are rising with returning players), and 2.5 behind Boston and Detroit.
Perhaps catching New Jersey is more realistic after they do something stupid at the trade deadline, and they swap out with Indiana. I predict Sacramento will finish 8th-10th, but next year will be a great hope of getting the pick if they have Karl full season and try to win the off-season because of that. To finish 11th they need to catch 4 teams.
Fingers crossed for this year, hope for next year.
