This is cool and it's a great play, but I have to say: I don't think he'd be able to do this against NHL talent. I know it was a two-on-one, but that D-man played it horrifically.

Although Canada is loaded with future (and current) NHL talent

It will be great to watch him progress as a hockey player, hopefully the Current coaching staff don’t botch his career like they have done already to a few other players.

LOL...Dach's defender doesn't even look at the puck in the net. He looks back at Dach like "WTF was that?"

Reminds me of a no-look reverse heel meg I put through a weekend warrior at the soccer park perfectly down the sideline to a streaking winger and he screamed

"No Way!!"....incredulous that what just happened was not just possible, but set-up, timed, and executed with his fully expected and received cooperation. It was a Packer fan living in Denver too. So sweet. I know it burned for nights as my wet dreams spread ejaculate thoroughly sopping the inner wall of my undershorts while replaying throughout subsequent nights.

The more I see of this kid the more I don't want them to resign Strome.....
Let’s wait and see what happens to the nhl season, it’s great he is playing in the world Junior but if the Hawks don’t end up having a season, it will certainly stunt his developmen.

How?

The kid loves hockey. In the unlikely event they don't have a season he'll probably find a pond to play on in Canada, or flick pucks against his garage.

I don't think circumstances are going to stop Dach. Or...should we just start calling him Dr. Toews and Mr. Dach?

Kid is Toews 2.0 with shoulders. Captain material.

It appears there is no holding him back from saddling up next to Kane. Not sure Strome has a chance in that fight if they go to just 2 scoring lines.

Stromes only chance is that Dach's length is so desired on defense they decide to roll him on a checking third.

Its my personal preference to roll through the attrition of the season that way, and only use Dach in a top 6 roll in big games and playoffs, for now.

How, very easily, when you are an athlete, young one at that, he is in the midst of developing his career. Missing an entire year of highly competitive hockey will surely have its setbacks. My guess is, you have never played hockey at an elite level, take a year off and tell me about it. You think slinging pucks at the outdoor rink will develop your skill set.
While we are at it, enough with the 2.0 comparisons. When Toews entered the league he was noticeable the minute he stepped on the ice. Dach has a long way to go to fill Jonathan’s Toews skates.
Put your poms poms away and let the kid become who he will become before you start anointing him 2.0.

Toews worst FO season was 53.24% and that was his rookie season @19,the kid with the "shoulders" barely managed 33%. I see a big upside in Kirby Dach too but the comparisons are wishful thinking at this point.
Dach never saw a single Jr season over 50% against kids,he could easily end up as a power winger if he can't win draws and that'd be okay too.

Strome missed games to a high ankle sprain last year and it might of hindered him upon his return too but Strome has 36gls,105pts and is 47% for his career at the dot in his first 164 games.......should we expect this or better from Dach?

Good question.

Do I see this from Dach next year? No

But, I see Dachs developing into a second line center blocked by Strome because that's all Strome is at this point.

Do the Hawks go with a fully sheltered second line? Or do they develop Dach with Kane on his wing who is the shooter Dach could use and your not too worried about sheltering him because Dach is already above average defensively?

Strome has his pluses, he does, but there only in one zone. If your gonna line up a bumslayer line again with Cat, Kane and Strome, they really gotta produce the same way the Panarin/Kane line did to be worth it for Dach to be kicked down to a different role and playing on a line without a finisher.

That's just my opinion. I have no idea what JC has in store outside of his tenure as the Hogs coach where he played a forechecking style and the pond hockey coach he's been in the NHL.

I'd like to re-do Strome for 2 years to keep Dach from getting slaughtered at the dot going up against other #2's. Who takes the Draws on a Kane/Dach line? D-Cat had 41 on a line with Strome and Kane/Perlini,the Breadman's a great player but he's yet to reach the 40 goal mark.

The Hawks do have the god of face off coaches, so I think Dach can grow at the dot to a 45% type one day.

The thing with Strome is I think he wants Cat type money.

I totally agree with your assessment, It just bothers me as a sports fan when people start crowning players that haven’t really achieved anything in particular. Toews is a first ballad hall of famer, 3 time cup champ, conn smith champ, Olympic champ, junior champ and that’s the tip of the iceberg. I am hoping as a fan that Dach can achieve even half of what Toews has achieved in his career that is far from over. I don’t need to hear this 2.0 nonsense. Toews is an elite talent that can’t be compared to, his intangibles are only met by a few, his leadership skills can’t be matched and his professionalism is unparalleled. Those are heavy skates to fill, just let Dach take his course and see what happens.

I think Strome would have to be insane to look for D-Cat type money,2.5-3M for 2 or 3 years should do but the team might not even be offering that. D-Cat has 87gls/173pts in his first 234gms and that woulda been even higher if JC didn't figure a way to suppress his young sniper's game.
