PEOPLE, PLEASE DON'T FALL INTO THE HINRICH TRAP, you need to trade him, and not only should you trade him but have a parade for him as he waves goodbye to Chicago on his way to O'Hare, sale his ass while his value is sky rocketing, don't allow him to piss away his value.

hinrich, salmons, for morrison, brown, fisher, and farmar

we gurantee fisher gets bought out. la gets back fish.

salmons is an improvement over brown and morrison.
hinrich is an upgrade over farmar and fish.

they spend more money. :-/

we are slightly worse, but we save 15 million. farmar gets all back up pg minutes. start brown. :-/ .. devin brown gets most back up minutes. morrison might play a minute?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I think trading Hinrich comes down to whether you think Rose (and maybe Noah) is enough to 1) get us into the playoffs and 2) attract a FA to play with him. Like it or not, Hinrich does play a part in the team's success (he plays poorly we lose, he plays well we win, simple as that). Without Hinrich on the team, we lose our backup PG (though that could easily be replaced in the trade I guess) and one of the best, if not the best, defenders on our team. You may think he is overrated or whatever, but he does set the tone on defense. If we trade Hinrich for crap and end up not making the playoffs, we have to hope and pray that Rose is enough to get a FA this summer. Or you can trade him for very significant cap space so that we could afford to outbid someone for a FA (if that's even possible) or something along those lines.

Again, why aim to just make the playoffs? This team can steal a first round victory the way they've been playing lately. Why mess with the chemistry to secure more cap space when we'll already have the max?

Shakes I'm with you. Even though I think you should move Salmons. Him and Brown seem alot alike. Alot of strength, not quick to contain dribble pentration and streaky shooters.

Respectfully,

when did Chicago become okc or charlotte. Screw winning a series, I want to be a contender. And i'm ok with us doing whatever it takes to get there. if there plan is to trade kirk AND salmons to have enough $ for a max player and a second tier player, i'll drive both of them to the airport. Hell, i'll drive kirk to LA. In order to win the championship you need 2-3 star players (maybe 2 and a borderline guy), we're still one or 2 away.

Winning a series is all about winning a championship. I don't want to win a series for the sake of winning a series, I want to win one because that gives us a huge boost in getting a free agent.

Getting a free agent isn't just a matter of having cap space, it's of being the best situation. The fact the Bulls are now looking like a good team rather than a pile of crap is hugely important. The "whatever it takes" may be stomaching overpaying Kirk for a bit longer because he's helping us on the court right now.

I want to finish ahead of Miami and Toronto and ideally progress further in the playoffs than they do. That way there's going to be a lot of pressure on Wade and Bosh ... if they don't sign with the Bulls it looks like they're just hanging with their current team for the money, they don't care about winning.

I'm done with Kirk. Has anybody watched the past few games? Kirk is getting absolutely toasted by everyone, on yes the defensive end. Out of the 4 wins, Kirk shot well in only one game. Parker was killing him in the Spurs game, last night in OKC he was just horrible, he didn't do 1 thing, not 1 thing good, nothing!

I will say it again, the Bulls winning lately has nothing to do with Hinrich in the starting lineup. Rose is absolutely dominating! The OKC game was almost perfect, wow he will be the best PG in the league in 2 years.

I would trade Hinrich for anyone, and no we aren't in a position to offer the max if we stay put.

I am in LA for work, and I listened to a ton of Laker shows yesterday. This Hinrich to the Lakers trade was the major topic of conversation. Apparently, Mitch Kupcheck wants to do the deal, but in reality, Hinrich's contract would cost Jerry Buss 18 million per year, because it would basically cause them to go into luxury tax territory. (9 million Hinrich salary + the 9 million luxury tax penalty)

Buss will need some convincing because he feels the team is strong enough to win the title already. There is a lot of disappointment in their point guard play...people are down on Fisher.

We absolutely will NOT have enough to sign a max free agent if Salmons opts in. Do you really think a free agent will sign a lesser deal to play with the Bulls, even if we are playing better? We're playing awesome now, but we're still behind Toronto and Miami.

Well I guess thats where we differ . I believe that if rose keeps up his play that most of the big FA's won't care. I mean i'm sure they'd understand what we're trying to do, or have 'people' around them that will. Why try to win a series to make it look like we're one piece away, when we're not? The fact remains that if we stand pat, theres a chance that we won't be able to afford a Max FA, why risk that?

Which would be a problem if Salmons was stinking it up like it was December. I think we can basically count him as gone already now he's playing at an acceptable level. There are so many teams with money that need a warm body to spend it on.
