I bought a couple mini pcs for our tvs about 16 months ago, installed Kodi, dropped dtv, instaled an antenna in the dishes place and haven't regretted it for a moment. For me it wasn't about the money but the functionality that Kodi and it's add-ons give me. We can basically watch any TV show ever made and new ones the day after they air. I also went with a solid VPN and bought the international game ticket after more than a decade of having DirecTV NFL package. The international game ticket is a far superior product, I can split my screen into four games or three games and the red zone. It's superior to DirecTV because I can choose which games I want up on the screen and toggle the audio to whichever game I want at the moment and none of the screen is wasted so when I put it on my hundred inch projector I basically have four 50 inch TVs. Oh and all the games are available, including preseason, playoffs , Sunday night , Monday night and Thursday night. There are apps on Kodi to watch the NFL but I find paying for it to be a much better product.

Do you use a vpn just to hide your IP? So your isp doesn't get any letters?

Nope. The VPN is only for the international game pass. You must purchase it from outside the US and then login from outside the US when you watch games.

Streaming shows is a bit of a grey area ( different from torrents) and I have never received a letter from my ISP.

If I get a unlocked Firestick with Kodi and send it to a friend in The Netherlands would she be able to plug and play without doing anything?

I really want to do that. It's stupid the NFL doesn't offer it for American customers. If they would offer a one team, all access pass to every game for that one team, I'd buy it every year.

I've always thought this. I wouldn't need the setup Sere bear has, just access to the Bears games as those are the only games I want to see all the way through. Prefer Red zone for the rest.

SERE Bear, what add on for kodi is best for NFL and specifically the Bears games . I've been going with those VLC streams which have been great but always good to have a reliable backup.

Sure, or your friend could just download Kodi & put it on a pc.

I do pay for it, $130 last year. So worth it!
