Everything I read about Kruger sounds good and I know the guy is very young, but I can't think of a player who was less noticeable on the ice in the games he played than Kruger. It felt like I didn't hear Foley (or any other broadcaster) mention his name during the entire season.
That might have had to do with the fact that he only played 7 regular season games last season. I forget which game in the Vancouver series, but Kruger and Smith came up pretty big one of them.

I liked what I saw, mostly in the Canucks series. I remember thinking he was hesitant to put the puck on net though. I think he had a couple open shooting lanes and ended up forcing a pass into traffic instead.

If he shines on the 4th line early, I would love to see him get a trial run centering the 2nd line. Brunette and Hoss on the wings would be a perfect situation for a young guy to grow. They can both help out defensively, and just need the puck to to be effective on offense.

Of course that is a pipe dream, but it could happen.

Also I still haven't given up on Kyle Beach. There is too much talent in there to be a complete waste.

I would rather see a young guy struggle mentally then physically, there is more of a chance to get your head right then step your game up. Maybe in camp and by watching the Hawks he can learn from Carcillo how to be a colossal ****** bag.
