Only way I see him staying is if he takes a severe pay cut(Which I doubt he will do).
When healthy he isn't worth his contract, too bad he misses just as many games as he plays nowadays. 23 games out in 3 years is NOT someone you can depend on.

That's too bad. Just like that we have a problem at Guard now.
Our Guard backup to Kush (who was listed as Probable with a Neck Injury) is Bryan Witzmann (4th yr, Started 13 games for Chiefs last year)
Sowel is a swing tackle who can also play Guard.

He was a guard before he was a RT. Bears started him on the dlinemen, to guard, to right tackle. I really like what he did in preseason.

I'd love to keep Long around if he were willing to take a bit of a pay cut, because he is very good when healthy and you can never have enough quality offensive linemen. But yeah, at his current price it's hard to justify keeping him around to only play a few games a year.

I didn't know they trained him on Guard first. Guard, rather than Tackle, would be the likely position to play a DT, I mean besides the bizarre switch to OL to begin with.
I wonder why they switched him from Guard to RT? Was that just because we had a glut of Guards and only one real backup at Tackle? = p

If Long took a huge pay cut, I'd be interested in keeping him. That's mostly because Morgan, Grasu didn't work out, and Compton left in FA.
