You're right. In this article, it doesn't sound like Briggs has CTE but is just trying to guard against it. I'm not sure if he's walking it back or what?

Well that's on the regime really. It's your job as a HC and GM to get the team on board with your vision and if they won't then you get rid of them. Not everyone is going to suck it up when they have shitty bosses and the fact is history has revealed Trestman and Emery were shitty bosses.

Contrast that with Fox which for all the shit he gets, he quickly got rid of the guys he didn't think would tow the company line such as Marshall.

Briggs handled the situation poorly for sure but your bosses need to do something to inspire confidence and to exhibit leadership and Trestman/Emery really did neither. They basically let a guy like Briggs run roughshod through the locker room which ultimately proves Briggs point that they were not up to the task. True leaders and alpha dogs would have nipped the Briggs situation in the bud and showed who is boss.

No he is to blame for sucking ass on the field. If he became this locker room cancer that is alleged then I think the coaches and GM are to blame for not dealing with it. That's kind of the point of their jobs. To manage and oversee the team.

CTE is so fucked. I don't remember Briggs having concussions but most concussions were undetected/not diagnosed. And he's right - LB's are in the mix every play (run and pass).

Hope he's ok. All the money in the world isn't worth degenerative brain disease.

As you can tell by my username...I love Briggs. He was good at everything and possibly one of the best in the league at a couple things. I hope he lives a long and good life.

Obviously there is no way to diagnose CTE until he passes. However, there is certainly symptoms that can be present in Lance that are similar to those who we later found out had CTE.

I'm trying to think if there has been another player from his generation, certainly not a Bear, who has come out and said he's also going through some of the symptoms of someone who was later found to have CTE. I just can't think of one.
