Even if there's a program that I "can't run" on OS X, there's this glorious little program called Boot Camp that would allow me to partition my hard drive into two separate ones - one to run OS X and one to run Windows 7.

Although, I can't understand why anyone would defile a Mac by running Windows on it...

exactly...it's alot easier to use the OS X program and have plenty of space left...also saving money

If you're referring to

At least 10 GB of free space on your startup disk (single partition).

that is the minimum partition you can make. It doesn't make much sense to have a hard drive with 2 gigs, now does it?

You can make partitions any size you want, within the relm of the cluster size and within each position of the sector. That means if you want an 8kb partition, you can do it.
