Any drummer, any musician, asked to be in the Beatles to replace someone would be considered "lucky" by most people. The point being it was the Beatles and no one, including the Beatles, had any idea what they would be come. That and the old joke, "how do you get the drummer off your porch? Pay him for the pizza".

I have a freind that went to HS with the members of Chicago. He was asked to join as a drummer but said no, because he wanted to be a dentist and owns a mutl site dental practice. He eventually did some recording with Sinatra and still gets small royalty checks. Asked him if he regrets not joining and he says no
