I have been cruising the basketball blogs tonight and reading ESPN and reading all this NBA news and I am amazed, INSANLEY amazed at how no one seems to get how huge this is. Trading Kirk Hinrich today is not about Kirk Hinrich, this is about LeBron James and there is now NO QUESTION OF A DOUBT that we are in the drivers seat in Free Agency.

We are now 2 million dollars away of getting two maximum contract free agents. This was a 4 team race (kinda). Miami, who can sign 2 max(1 is Wade) and a $10 mill guy, or New York, who can sign 2 free agents and have no talent, maaaayybe the Clippers who can sign a max guy and maybe an additional mid tier star and in the corner, da Bulls, who could offer Rose and Noah. There was a doubt at that point what was better. Rose and Noah, or 2 max guys and nothing else. Now there is no question. Now the Bulls can offer you a dynasty. The Chicago Bulls now are standing in the corner with Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Loul Deng, Taj Gibson and TWO MAXIMUM CONTRACT FREE AGENTS. I know that you will have the ney sayers saying (your still $2 million short). The difference is nothing. NOTHING. If any team takes ANY ONE OF OUR PLAYERS in a sign and trade, we can absorb 2 max guys. James Johnson and a future first rounder, Taj...whatever. Bosh and LeBron can say "Were leaving" and Toronto and Cleveland will be forced to take whatever the hell we give them. You don't think they would take Taj, who made the all-rookie team and makes rookie money?

This is happening. Chicago will get LeBron to commit, because we can almost guarentee we will get another good player to surround him and have a core that simply blows every other teams away. One of the top free agents will be willing to either A) take a small pay cut, or B) their team would be willing to take on a Taj Gibson, so we can make this work, if the FA says they are leaving. The Chicago Bulls and whoever they convince to come, will hold the entire deck.

At this point I also see, LeBron almost looking bad if he goes to New York. If LeBron goes to New York, he is blatently doing it because he would rather be in New York than Cleveland. If LeBron goes to Chicago, he obviously wants to win, because we give him that chance.

Gar Forman, the man I questioned. The man who Fred wanted thrown out of the organization for letting Ben Gordon go, is on the verge of putting together a team that is BETTER than the 96-97 team. A team that is of the age and talent to dominate the NBA for a decade. This all now hinges on Lebron deciding to leave.

Boys and girls....all hands on deck, we are on the verge of becomming a dynasty.

i was just going to say the same thing.

Now we're the frotn runner

wade is 29. he's the only good player in miami. We have a young team. We have Rose and Noah. a pg and a center. A good defensive coach that seems to be promising. Would you rather be with an injury prone wade, or rose and noah. Frankly at the moment, we have more talent than miami. plus no one is discussing the ability for lebron and wade to play well together. wade is 29. he is what he is, rose is definately still developing. Lastly both noah and rose play to win and are unselfish. wade has an ego

the knicks have d'antoni a coach who doesnt even know how to play defense. couldn't get amare to play d( he played d this year) They have gallani, douglus, curry, and chandler. Is this team really much better than the nets or wizards? really? their selling point was the ability to sign 2 agents and living in nyc. Personally i like chicago better than nyc. also miami and chicago now can sign two maxs as well.
GO GET EM PAX/DORF!

Miami were never in the LeBron sweepstakes, the Wade/LeBron ego thing would be too big. It was always between NY/CHI/CLE, and this puts NY out of the race, since their only selling point was the 2x max, and we've got that now too. So it's us or Cleveland.

And the best part of the deal is the Knicks fans are on suicide watch now. They know between the moves we've made and the moves Miami have made they're getting the dregs.

I agree. I thought I was the only one who realized this lol. For me I say Cleveland is still number 1 and then chicago 2. Imo i would even say the nets are 3 and nyk are 4th. But taht is just my opinion. I really cannot wait till July 1st. If we got Lebron......wow just wow.........it would be more than words could describe. Like I said when July 1st happens....let the hype begin!!!!!!!!!

What the heck is up with Miami though? I heard they have enough room for 3 FA's now. That's just insane. That's Wade, Amare/Boozer/Bosh, and someone else. Insane.

Jeff Van Gundy just declared us the winner of the draft despite the fact we had zero picks.

Worst case scenario we will have:

PG-Derrick Rose
SG-Joe Johnson
SF-Luol Deng
PF-Carlos Boozer
C- Joakim Noah

That's a pretty good team in it's own right.

I'm not sold on Lebron James being a Bull yet. I think we have to be the frontrunners though, with Cleveland being our only competition.

But make no mistake about it, Joe Johnson will be a Bull now.

From what I have heard on the radio...Lebron met with the Cavs owner face to face, and told him he was leaving. This just happened in the last 2 days...

Wade wants Bosh or Amare...he has conceded that Lebron won't go there, and I don't believe he wants him particularly.

I also read that the Bulls have 3 moves set up...

1. Sign Joe Johnson to 4 year deal at about 60mil
2. Sign Lebron James
3. Trade Deng to Orlando for Gortat and Pietrus...notice who the Magic drafted...if they are keeping Gortat...that was not a team need.

Plus, Reinsdorf is too careful to make these moves without knowing ssomething.

Jalen Rose stated yesterday that Miami was behind Chicago. Lebron wanted them to do more as far as a supporting cast.

Is it a coincidence that Rose came out with a very rare rumor around the time that Lebron met with Cavs owner?

All signs say get excited...lets see what happens...

HAHAHA that is hilarious, although I do agree with him.

I have to give major props to the Bulls organization. I hated the fact that we let Gordon go and didn't dump Kirk in order to sign him. Especially at that 5/49 deal. But right now they have made me completely eat my words. They took a huge risk and it has fell into place. Props to them, it took balls to go all in like they have. I take back a lot of the bad things I said, cause they really planned ahead and got themseleves into this situation. This Hinrich trade and the Noc/Gooden dumps look god like right now. Even getting that Bobcats pick for Tyrus is looking might great right now too.

Even if we don't get James, I will still give credit to the Bulls. They got us in the situation to be the favorite to get him, what more can you ask? The Bulls have made the moves now its up to Lebron.

Exactly. And if they manage to do that Orlando trade on top of that, management looks like geniuses...if they don't already.

Be careful man...people on this forum said that if they don't get a top tier free agent from this...it wasn't worth the try...going back to last year's moves...just so you know...wouldn't want "The Church of BG" to come after you...

Where did you hear the rumor about Lebron telling the Cavs owner he was leaving? If Lebron did that, it's a smart move on his own part. The Cavs can start preparing for life without Lebron, and I think that will make them more inclined to giving Lebron a sign and trade, which will keep him happy getting those full 6 years. Best case scenario would be a Lebron James for Luol Deng sign and trade, then we can go after a guy like Carlos Boozer too to make a more balanced roster.

I did hear Joe Johnson starting at $13.4 million. I think we can mark Joe Johnson to the Bulls as done deal based on Reinsdorf's history.

Not the biggest fan of Joe Johnson, but pairing him with Lebron James or even a Chris Bosh/Amare Stoudemire/Carlos Boozer gives the Bulls a hell of a team.

If Lebron is peacing out on Cleveland, I really can't see him going to anywhere but Chicago at this point. Forman destroyed the Knicks tonight.

It's either us or Miami!!!!

Miami's positives:
-Dwyane Wade, proven MVP caliber player
-No state income tax (despite "paycut", both MIA FA's will still make more or equal to Chicago FA's at max)
-Pat Riley, proven championship coach

Miami's negatives:
-Dwyane Wade, has 1 more ring than LBJ. James will not allow his legacy to be Wade's sidekick. (LeBron is the better player, but MIA is and will always be Wade's team)
-No supporting cast. After signing 2 max plus Wade, MIA has nothing to surround the trio. They can only fill out the roster with minimum salary players. (If I'm a quality minimum salary player, I'd rather sign with the Lakers.)

Chicago's positives:
-Joakim Noah. Rose is fantastic, but Noah is what separates us from MIA. MIA can't guarantee LBJ a double-double Center. We can!!
-Legacy. LBJ will be known as the Bulls' savior in Chicago. He'll be known as riding Wade's co-tail in MIA.
-Supporting cast. Rose, Noah, Deng, Gibson, Johnson (I hope he's part of the WAS trade too, I hope!!!). If you're LBJ & Bosh, that group sounds a hell of a lot better than Curry, Galanari, & Chandler; or Wade, Beasley, & minimums; or the Clipps.

Chicago's negatives:
-Thibodeau is still a question mark. To put it in NBA Draft terms: He's got a lot of upside. But he's still very raw.

If LBJ really wants to fulfill all his dreams, the answer is clear...it's Chicago. His dreams won't be as sweet in Miami.

And apparently Chris Paul to the Magic is pretty much a done deal too. The Hornets are just looking for a third team to get involved to dump Okafor on.

If Chris Paul goes to Orlando, no way Lebron can afford to stay in Cleveland. He would almost have to join the Bulls, because if he stays in Cleveland, then there would be some legitimate championship contenders in Miami, Chicago, and Orlando...and the Celtics could still compete too at least next year.

of all the teams to trade him to/for, the magic? what assets do they have? it'd have to be a for a sign and trade, the whole idea behind trading paul would be to either get assets in a young star or trade him to rid themselves of his contract.

i call bull on this trade.

As much as I don't like the idea of Joe Johnson, I'm OK with it if we get LeBron. Still would rather any of the PF guys, but it's no longer a slit your wrists bad kind of move.

yeah, i was under the impression that JJ would be our 1 an only free agent. I dont mind singing him to be the 3rd scoring option.
